I have a mate with the MKII varistream & another mate with the analogue controller. As said, I have used a MKI varistream for a few years & it's been great. My mates MKII is a different beast & I don't like it, it behaves differently & many others on various forums have also reported the MKII as being troublesome. The analogue one is basic & simple (which is what you want) & also allows you to set specific & perfect/accurate values i.e. on a varistream you only have choices of say- 1, 2, 3 etc & many find they want something like 2.5- halfway between 2 & 3. The analogue controller has a "dial" which you turn & thus can dial in micro-adjustments. I believe the analogue controller to be a better option than a MKII Varistream, I've not heard a bad word about it yet.;) Put it this way, even with umpteen years of an excellent experience with a MKI varistream I would not buy a MKII version.
