I spend money, I still pay £200 for a t shirt or £400 for a jumper or trousers, £600 for trainers sometimes. Like holidays etc too. If I cut all that out I'd have it but am only here once and I'd rather enjoy spending the money the now while I still enjoy socialising going out than
Sounds like you're spending money to impress others. Personally never spent more than £75 for a pair of trainers, spent £100's on decent leather shoes.
As for paying £100's on tee shirts and trousers?? No one on here spends money on enjoying their life, possibly @steve garwood might give me a run for my money, than me, but I'm not blowing money trying to impress others. You might have a major injury, where you can't earn any money, your £600 trainers will seem ridiculous then.

You should always have 3-6 months bill money tucked away in a bank account ready in case the need arises.have you not got an emergency fund at all then?I have £11k in mine just for emergencies as well as various other bank accounts with money invested in them(high interest accounts and nest eggs,etc)...

Even if it takes you 5 years to get a 10k-15k emergency fund together it's worth it for piece of mind
With respect though and I'll happily be corrected, you don't own your own home not married and have no kids, it's very easy to save when you have none of these, houses aint cheap to maintain and renovate as needed I've no idea how much it costs to bring up kids but houses cost a fortune as nothing is cheap these days, we spent 2 years renovating our current home and we spent a fortune in that time.

I'd have a lot more savings if I didn't spend all that money, also notice how I didn't mention any amounts of money once ?

I only have my mate out the now, which has been a good few month although he is looking for work.ive enough there to cover his wages for a few weeks if nothing paid me but that doesn't happen.

In the last 3 years I've been to different countries no less than 30 times, so 10 a year on average going away. I wouldn't like to add up what it costs me but it's only money, I'd rather be doing that enjoying myself than putting it away. Thinking about a new bathroom tbh and started looking, so depending on how much money itl cost I might need ti cut back on a few trips this year.
I'm getting Scottish vibes will someone check his iPhone ?

If you ain't got PL insurance I assume you don't have employers liability insurance either, no mates where money is concerned if something happens to your mate and its your fault and he takes you to the cleaners you'll have nothing, honestly you are talking like a kid

Just like nice clothes, we all spend money on something that someone else would see as a waste,

Each to their own.....I prefer to have money behind me in the bank for financial piece of mind.that doesn't mean I don't go on nice holidays every year and my personal treat is getting a brand new car every 3 years....

But im older than you (most probably)and ive learnt from my financial mistakes of the past....(I'm 52 now)

My point exactly. It’s not that easy to save say 20-40 grand when you’ve kids etc and if I did manage it I would be investing it in owning my own home instead saving it for a rainy day. That’s said if I was single with no kids I would be a millionaire?

If I wasn't married I might be a millionaire ?

Spent too much money in the last few years on this house and previous one and my wife is still talking of moving again, I said never again but I said that last time ?

The is definitely a difference in the way men and women view the same thing.

Most definitely, although she was right about moving from the last house, it was a nice little development but with shared access and parking in a courtyard not ideal in our business with filling a tank etc we both knew we were never going to stay there.
