I quoted more to take egg off 2 windows on Saturday than their usual windie charges for the house

They were happy to pay to get it off as it had been done friday evening so wasn't too dry yet

I asked "does your window cleaner not take the green muck off the sills then"

"No he doesn't "

By the time i had done them (1 1st floor and 1 ground floor) they had already decided their windie had to go and worked out i could reach the 2nd floor bay window and the one round the back over the slope that their guy can't reach and now the neighbour has asked me to do theirs and drop the old guy too

I have quoted them both more than the other guy but they have seen the difference in quality of job

Never be afraid to quote what you want for a particular job

CMR. Did these come to you as calls or did you go actively canvass them?
Hi mate only just saw your post started off in my local high street these were my first windows ever. There was an old guy that had packed up doing the whole high street and as I was a regular face when I went in and said I was windows they we're more happy to let me take over. I do a bundle of shops in two other high streets mainly through luck. One was because a manager from a coral book makers moved shop and asked me to come and clean two shops within walking distance I then canvassed whatever shops needed doing left and right of them and also had a couple come up to me and ask me to clean their windows. And the other area is because one of my customers owns an independent shop and said the window cleaner was turning up about once every six weeks when it was supposed to be weekly she was very friendly with the neighbouring shops and recommended me and as the other guy was rubbish they all soon jumped ship. Sorry for the life story but that's how it's happened lol

I only do shop work on a Friday 22 shops 2hrs £110 all 6ft by 6ft windows in one street.....jobs a good Un. ..

For all yous working that out its £5 a window ....lol.....

I'v been cleaning a high street pub since I stated, they recently had a refurbishment and wanted a lot more work done, so I gave the area manager the new price. He said "it doesn't work like that" you can't just increase the price. Ok so I can't do the extra work. So I no longer clean for them. I don't know who these people think they are.
