Try to create a price list for window cleaning as bit of guide for pricing houses. Looking online seems like I’ve underpriced myself a fare bit for a long time. However do you guys charge extra for 8/12 weekly customers compared to your 4/6 weekly customers? If so do you it as a percentage or a fix fee?

I charge extra because if my 4 weekly found out I was charging the same then they might be wandering why they don't get a discount for being more frequent.

For a £15 job it would be £18, £20 would be £25, £30 would be £40.  The £15 jobs are harder to get more money out of so the increase percentage wise is less than the higher priced jobs.

I only offer 4, 8 and one offs.  I only offer 8 and one offs for people who ask for it as if everybody was on 8 weeks I would need twice the amount of customers.

I wouldn't entertain anything other than my usual frequency now to be honest. But it I did then aye adding a 20% extra is how I might go

Im now trying to stick to 6 week only as I'm where I want to be customer wise, but as I was building I'd put 30% on top for 8 weekly and 50% on top for 12 weekly (On a case by case basis)

I'm about the same, I find six weekly to be the sweet spot, with similar price increases for longer spacing..

i offer 4 weekly/6 weekly/8 weekly/12 weekly, twice a year and once a year.....?ill take any local larger stand alone job on at any frequency they want....

most are either 4 weekly/8 weekly......the 6 weekly/12 weekly ones are in a different street/area

my rounds bit of a mess currently made everything 6 weekly instead of 4/8 weekly due taking too long to get round and the 8 weekly almost 4 weeks late. Hoping to get sorted over the next few months and getting back to 4/8 weekly

why is it taking you so long to get round?too much work?or have you been ill/on holiday?

i have around 350 jobs and work 20-25 hours a week "on the glass" and i can easily get round on time(most are 4 weekly)working 5 hours a day.......4 or 5 days a week, sometimes i only have 2 or 3 easy days to do in a week.....this brings in around £45k turnover per year after holidays(xmas and 2 holidays abroad per year).....i could work and earn more if i put more effort in but im happy as it is at the moment.....

Had a tough year this year, my wife found out she was pregnant at the start of the year and some suspected issues on the scan meant we got referred to hospital 50 miles away for regular scans which lost me a few days then my son was born in July at that hospital and spent nearly 8 weeks in there. Managed to get him home then unfortunately he passed away a few weeks later so lost quite a bit of time.

but some of my issues are from before then with under pricing, poor speed/fitness, motivation and poor business skills. to much work for the effort I put in, cut down 50 jobs over the last couple of years due trying cut down my area I cover. Currently at around 300 jobs

Thanks mate we are doing it's being tough slowly getting back to normal, well a new normality.

i feel prices need to improve, haven't had a price increase since 2016 and a lot didn't even get increased then and had some jobs nearly 10 years. Starting to work on fitness as doing a couple of 10k runs next year to help raise some money for the hospital, and improving my motivation with setting new goals and target to get me focused.

@Laugher very sorry to hear mate I'm glad you and your missus are doing as well as you can be. Hearing that puts everything else in perspective. All the best to you both pal

@Laugher sorry to hear about what you've told us, really good to hear that you are pushing on and making positive changes, I know lads that undervalue themselves and their businesses, but are also running around like headless chickens with work spread out to far and wide across various towns thus costing them time and money.

I have a £7 minimum for anything so you need a minimum price if you haven't already and you need to add extra on for travel time if required, a £10 house at 4 weekly would be 40% more at 8 weekly or more depending on location, maybe you offering 4,6,8,12 weekly has got you running around too much maybe, if so this obviously needs addressing moving forward if you are going into the same streets multiple times for different jobs on different cycles.

If you don't use round tracking software I would recommend doing so, as this will give you a much better overview of your business and help you organise your rounds and keep them organised, I wish you all the best moving forward.

We only offer 4 or 8 weekly on domestic anything else is a one off price 2-3 times the normal price
Oh yes.I offer 4,6 & 8 weeks. Then 12 weeks is practically back to Initial clean for Initial price. If a one off - I'll add on £5/£10 depending on client.

Is that not a nightmare to keep track of? If not, I’d make a bet that it will be once you get busier!!  Sticking with one (6 weekly for example then double that for the odd job if you prefer) if you can will make life a lot easier down the line.

I see your view Max...at the mo,im building my client base...so..i'll adjust according...im trying to be flexible...when i get busier,i'll have to turn work away or fit in on quieter days...at the moment,im after more clients.

Yes, and it's easier to charge slightly more for 6 weekly than 4 weekly. Plus you can have more customers with the 6 weekly and all at the slightly higher rate. I find that the customers don't moan "Am I really due again" with 6 weekly like they did with 4 weekly. ?
