Maybe try anchoring the hose to the floor so the swivel can actual work properly?

It's really annoying as it never use to do it before I've only recently put the swivel on

Also going by the angle of the hose to the swivel joint it looks too tight (not lined up properly) so the swivel can't swivel properly

Yup....the connecting hose needs to be a little longer.....

or....you could even have that section of hose long enough to form a loop in the hose before the connection......this will take the tension off the swivel joint so that joint can swivel freely.....

On mine, I have put enough loops in the feed hose to the angled swivel connector, that I can remove the reel from the van (if needs be) without disconnecting anything.
