Fan jets

hi fellas and girls just put some fan jets into a new brush and they seem great especially for my hydrophobic glass patio doors but is there anything I should look out for regarding rinsing methods as I know the fan jets spray a lot more water I don't want to be messing custys windows up tomorrow I know kier I think it was said he loves using them and I can see what he means I think they could really speed up rinsing of both glass types

Yep bazzer i lurve em lol.

Infact after i put those vids up i have taken onboard my citics' comments lol and have been playing again.

And indeed there are alot of panes of glass that you dont need to pull the brush off at all, infact the rinse is much more comprehensive leaving the brush on the glass, as the water just sheets like mad.

BUT.......!!!!! I am finding that there seems to be sub categories of phobic and philic.

Nearly all philic you can leave the brush on all the way down the glass, the odd philic it leaves bristle marks if you dont move quick enough or it just does.

As for the philic, most of it i struggle leaving the brush on for the whole window, i can only get away with starting at the top then pull off and let the fans do their work, but then there's another type of philic that yes you can leave the brush on but you have to move fast, its almost as if you aren't rinsing at all.

Gotta admit i am enjoying experimenting at the moment, i have just completed an 'audit' of my work for the first time in years and have worked out a reallly nice schedule for myself, which has allowed me to turn my water flow up from (varistream digi) 3 and D/F to 4 and 9 or A, the higher your flow the better for rinsing on.......within reason lol

I used fans for a while, but feel they spray over possible dirt traps when rinsing off the glass. I use them in my brush for pvc cleans only ATM.

Sorry bazzer didnt really answer much there, things to look out for in my experience is if you keep the frames mint then you should be safe-ish.

When rinsing from the top make sure as you move down the window that the water pulls away from the seal, you are safe if it does. If it doesn't then check it after a few windows and maybe rinse it again.

If keeping the brush on all the way i have found that after you have started from the top then just ease the brush off a little to keep the bristles in contact but enough to contain the water within the bristles.

thanks kier it seems like you having plenty fun experimenting with fan jets and tomorrow I will be same just had a go today on own house and fair did it quick rinsing power is amazing but as tuffers said got to be carful where spraying as not as accurate but I suppose with time that will come interesting about different glass really scientific that mate lol I do know its gonna speed me up loads cheers mate and tuffers

I used be the same tuffers, i think after using fans for a good few months now that they do have a weakness which is when you get a stubborn chunk, usually a clotted web or egg sack that pencils do have more weight behind the jets and clears them easier, but they have more pro's than con's for me.

Tenchy, i have two different types at the mo, gardiners wide fan (red ones) and some brass ones off ebay. The G's ones are good but i have somehow managed to snap two recently. And the brass ones are really good but they are designed for bigger tubing so i had to use hot water and patience to get the tubes on.

I nearly got some of those blue ones yesterday but they are too big for most of my stocks, i get the feeling they are the best ones

not sure of best ones tench but these were red plastic ones from gardiners and push straight into pre drilled holes in the brush they seem ok mate but I suspect they could be better out there I set pencils on same brush so can change quickly

These are good fans, but like Keir said, you have to drill the hole in the brush out a bit.

Yes mate, they also highlight airlocks too. I am having to move the pump soon as i have it too high so am getting a lot of air locks.

They come in blue too. Not got a clue if there is any difference. Those in the pic are in a Vikan, I had to drill a bigger hole to fit them, they need bigger jet hose and are glued in. I hardly use the brush as its on the end of a CLX-4 /emoticons/biggrin.png

You mean this side? The jet sits flush in the brush the bristle side.

Think I got them off eBay. Pretty sure Gardiners sell the blue ones.
