I do pressure washing, exterior cleaning etc as well, but found the work a bit sparodic, some months swamped with work, other months nothing.

So I decided to do a bit of window cleaning for some constant money, I only started that very recently, started trad with 3 customers, I now have enough work that every Monday is a full day window cleaning, not a lot I know, but I am getting new customers every week, I have only now forked out for a WFP system, and its a cheapo package job from ebay which will do me fine until I double my work load then I will slowly start adding stuff.

Its fine to want to start with all the gear from day one, but if it means waiting months to get going screw it, do it now and get cracking, by the time you can afford all the gear you will have the customers to actually use it.

At the moment I'm still working and using it to just get as much ££££ behind me as I can. I'm just trying to give myself the best chance when I go for it. I understand what your saying. But for me i'll feel more happy about it all if I just hold fire and get as much cash behind me as possible. Its a massive step for me to set up my own business and I want to TRY to make it as stress free as possible

All I think about now is cleaning and what i'm going to do.

Though I am going to have to spend another £50 for a bigger DI vessel, because my water TDS is so shocking (430) the RO unit with built in DI isn't man enough.

You might be able to set up even cheaper depending what your water TDS reading is, might not even need RO.

There is a thread in diy section for diy backpack but would work well on a trolley and then you would have poles etc already when you sort the van

Yeah I looked at doing that, and it is cheaper, but not by a big margin to be honest, the backpack I have is only £105 or something, when bought with the RO etc in a kit its even cheaper.

Yeah I can agree with that, the pumps are really good, I just couldn't afford it right now, and the way I see it going I want a small trolley for awkward jobs (that bits sorted now) then a pump in the back of the pick up separate on a reel for the jobs I can reach with it.

So in the end I decided to go with this little back pack/trolley to get me going, and it will always come in handy anyway.

AS far as water production is concerned if I was going to give any advise it would be don't by a small ro/di unit as they are not fit for purpose.

@doug atkinson on here sells decent ones and will give you advice on the best ones to get.

Not used my trolley/back pack on a days work yet, just my own house, but it is doing upstairs on the lowest setting spot on, I am doing some 3 story work on Tuesday so will see how she does with that but I don't see a problem, so far a thumbs up from me.

Agree with this to a point, but it really depends on your budget, I can over time expand this RO unit to I think 400 or maybe 500 gallons a day, and also add a pump, so while right now it would never cope with a full time round I can at least expand it as my round expands.

Would I liked to have bought a top of the line RO unit? hell yeah, but budget constraints have to come into play.

But if you are waiting to start saving up to buy the best I would suggest buying what you can afford now and get working /emoticons/smile.png
