GARDINERS BACKPACK WITH EXTENDED HOSEREEL

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I recently did a thread on this. Search for ‘reel for trolley’.

Its a reel made by ‘flopro’, all metal, no plastic. Perfect for attaching to a trolley.

I used industrial strength cable ties to attach it.

Ive tried several plastic reels and will never go back to them.

I have 60m of microbore on mine and it’s rock solid
Great stuff, thank you for the reply. Its £70, but looks solid and the metal fittings must be good and strong and wont leak looking at them there not cheap fitings. Somthing to look at is this, its what fittings I need form my back pack to hose reel and hose reel to pole, is it alot of fittings? Do you have a kits list? Looks a great trolly set up! Can not wait to have one working, I am sick to death of 20m hose and coiling it its a right mess, fed up, its the ony part i need now for a nice easy process to clean. Wish I was more savy with putting things together. Thank you again for your advice.

Also I forgot to ask.  Hose wise, what do you guys recommend and in the picture what is used? from the orange hose out of the back pack it goes into a yelloe hose into the claber connector, what type is used and whats best to use? Would normal hose faclift hose I use be fine?

The hose coming form the pole is different to the hose on the reel, why is this? do you run a uni valve? can you just use the same hose througout?  I also reading on other posts that be careful using right hose to uni valve and also the re inforced yelloe hose is not as good on fittings?  what is people views. I thought it would have been fine.  Just want to get the right hoses and set up, worring about leaks its been the issue of a lot of people on here looking at posts from the past.  Thanks  shame no one builds them and sells them, id buy lol. Anyone in kent building one, want to link up?

I am working on my set up this week, hose reel wise any latest recommendations? Sack trolly wise I am stuck what one to get i want small once decent wheels no handles. any advice welcome. I am goign to get the claber connections and ez snap bits from gardiner, then its go go go.  Just a bit nervous on taking the plunge on what bits to buy. seen some bits form this post I will probably go for but any final recommendations on these bits please let me no as going to order all I need asap. Thanks:)

Flopro reel. Solid steel. Mines on my trolley with 60m of microbore on it.

Tried loads, this is the best imo

Hi Steve, yes I looked it’s full metal and connections, is it much heavier? Or bigger? It’s pricey best seen is 70 quid. If I was to get it I’d use the connections from gardiner the cleaber ones. I’d use 20 meter on it may be 30m I seen sack troll bnq 23 quid was on the post. It should go on that trolley. What you use to hold it on trolly? Jubilee? Thanks Steve.

Hi Steve, just checking back to this thread. Had a family death so bit behind with my trolly build.  I pretty much no what I am buying now and will get it all in, but looked at this hose reel and it looks great.  Can I ask what fittings do you use to go into the reel from the back pack 6mm hose and the inside connector what do you use for that? I imagine it fits to the 6mm hose (yellow one) from gardiner what I will buy.  The fittings look a little different in picture of the flopro.  Any advice help would be great.  Can you use the claber orange connectors with the reel?  Very interested in this as I think the metal connections built on it may be better and worth spending some more. I only can see it on one site and dont no the size hope its not to big.  Thanks. Can not wait to start putting it together, coiling up hose is doing my head in now.lol.

I’ll get back to you tomorrow as I’m a bit busy tonight ?

This is the connection I use inside the reel. It attaches to microbore hose. Got it from Varitech

I use EZ snap connectors ?

Thanks Steve.  That looks great, so assume that will just fit on to any reel and it fastens up looks betetr than the clabber orange one I buying. also i like the fact i cna put pole hose on to ez snap set up and put on to that connector and there tight as anyway.  How much is that connector? Will it fit on to most hose reels? Thanks again

It will fit on any standard reel.

Think it was around 6-7 quid

Ah great, so you just push fit it on the the bit on the indside and then tighten it upwith the turner that I can see if I am correct?  So you rate this better than the orange clabers?  It does seem sturdy.  Is that a 6mm bit that snaps on to the EZ snap? Thanks mate I am going to get this.  Do you have a link I can not locate this on their site. Thanks

Any brass fitting is sturdier than plastic. Just push it on how you would any hozlelock connector.

Push the microbore over the grip rings and use either a jubilee clip or an o ring to tighten. Rock solid ?

Remember to order the right size connector. Microbore or minibore. These connectors aren’t suitable if you intend using only pole hose as your reel hose.

Heres a picture of the elbow connection I use on the side of the reel

Old thread I know but very informative still.

I've ordered the aquapony reel from amazon, two weeks delivery for some reason so I'd like to have everything I need when it arrives. Am I right in thinking I'll only need some jubilee clips and a double female hose connector?

Also, interested in using jubilee clips instead of o clips for some things... What size jubilee clip will I need for pole hose on to EZ connectors for example?

Thanks

Why would you want to use jubilee clips ? O clips are much better , but if you do want a jubilee clip go to a motor accessories shop and get some fuel line clips much better than jubilee clips

Thanks. It just feels as if it'd be good to have the option to reuse the clip, but I know what you mean, o clips fit incredibly well. Where's the best/cheapest place for o clips?
