heres my diy wfp trolley system!

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Took mine out this week and works as good as my other one, except it cant carry a telescopic ladder like my other one. No Problems at all. The On switch though that lights up saying 'ON' Doesn't say ON any more, the black around the letters smudged in the wet weather so now its just lights up when on . I have also just fitted a charging plug in and dropped on a good little intelligent 6/12 volt battery charger from Lidl although I cant see it on the website.

heres my first Trolley with ladder, without reel

And with reel and pneumatic tyres

Yeh, I got my remote control switch today from midlands cleaners, fitted it on and it works great. Tested it about 40 meters away and it works well.

I've just got to sort out what hose I will use.

Jimmyboots, what size hose did u connect to your pump? and what size hose u got on that real. (do both ur trollys use same setup?)

I was hoping to use microbore (6mm id), but may have to go with minibore (8mm id).

I've seen that reel in my local wilko, might give that a go for £15.

Barney....I use pole hose on the trolleys 5mm inner diameter. 8mm ID is best for van set ups with 100metres.

Heres what I used for the latest trolley, a lovely hose. and on offer as its new.

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/NEW----All-Season--Pole-Hose-5mm-8mm-ID-OD---100m-POLE_HOSE_AS_30.html

To connect to the pump I got some 8mm inner diameter clear hose from local aquatic shop about £1.50 a metre. B&Q sell it as well.

All Trolleys use the same basic setup. If you click on them last pictures, they will take you to some library pictures of my trolley setup. A diagram that i did is on there somewhere to of the wiring to a Trolley with a relay to protect the pressure switch

Cheers for that info jimmyboots. I'll have to digest some of what u did in those pictures and think what I might use.

As for your relay, does it cut the pump out completely when u turn the tap off on the pole/hose?

Also I notice that u used a bit of clear 8mm hose over pole hose to attach the coupling... good idea.

Edit.

Oh by the way like the stickers on ur trolley, where did u get them from lol.

The relay takes the load off the pressure switch. The pressure switch eventually burns out and has to be replaced after continuous use so by putting a relay in between, the relay acts as the switch instead. Being more robust, it will last much longer.

Ye the extra hose gives strength where it attaches to the couplings.

The stickers I make up myself. Go on the internet download images play around with them and print onto adhesive paper /emoticons/smile.png

I will put a pic of what ive put on the new Trolley when Photobucket comes back on, the site has gone down at the moment.

this is what I put on the new Trolley. I get sick of people thinking I'm spraying tap water on the windows /emoticons/biggrin.png

That's friggin brilliant, deffo gonna look into some stickers when I get mine built... /emoticons/smile.png

Cheshire....

Push the 8mm ID clear hose over the 8mm Outer diameter pole hose and then push the coupling into the 5mm hose and put o ring over them both. That 8mm clear hose is only about 6 inches long to strengthen the hose at the coupling... Is that what you meant ?

Barney...

Ye just normal printer. They are fairly good in the rain. That photo was taken yesterday after workin this week in the rain. Just a couple of marks at the bottom where I put my foot to pull back the trolley. They wont last forever but worth it. Get the Gloss paper, cheap on ebay. Its good to get a hazard sign on to cover yourself

cheers jimmy yes thats what i meant as im thinking of going down to pole hose size but we need a 8mm int diameter hose straight off the the pump dont we!

Its good to have a 8mm pipe going from the barrel to the pump but you could go straight with the pole hose from the pump to the pole if you can get it over the pump connection. Otherwise run the 8mm from the pump as well and then put a reducer on the hose at the top of the trolley (where I have mine going into the reel) and connect the smaller hose there.

here's a reducer, doesn't look like it in the picture but it is. Get the right size reducer though

Here's my finished trolley (almost), final bill around £170, it would have been less if I was not a complete novice, i had to buy new tools to replace ones that was either old or broken, like drill bits, soldering iron etc, plus ordering wrong things was part of the learning curve, I would really recommend any newbie to give it a go, it's had a trial run at family houses and works a treat, thanks to Cheshire for his help and Mark on You Tube and all you guys on this site especially alex gardiner, who helped me with my hoses and connectors, he really knows his stuff, I would never have thought of this myself, just need customers now then I am officially a windy.

If I can do one of these, anybody can.

looks good pal, only thing i'd say is your pumps upside down, i did mine that way and was told its wrong way around on here, mine worked fine either way but i just put it the way everyone else did!

Can't believe that it's half price, most expensive bit of the build too!

I might have to buy one of those to build as a spare and I like the Manchester United red colour!!!
