Quality someone on here who I won't mention who loves hot water will not like that.

Was looking at this a while ago to maybe make a portable hot water system to be plugged into customers property when wanting just use hot tap water on demand to use for deep cleaning gutters, soffits, fascias, cladding, conservatory roofs etc....

Smurf I know this thread is well old but i'm using my pure on ALL of my work inc fascias and gutters ....should i be ? it would save a nice bit of pure ....but if i was i might as well mix it with detergent as well.....i guess then switch back to pure for the windows....this is probably a very daft question as i think i know the answer.. Since getting a larger van and sticking two tanks in it I tend to use pure water for everything now. No you don't need to use pure on plastics as long as the customer has an outside tap.

Best you don't attempt to run chems through your wfp pump unless it's a chem spec pump or could soon knacker it.

Regarding hot water I use the same as the link but needs a good flow rate or will keep cutting out. I have to set my digi wfp controller on a min of 55 (2.5 lpm) or the burner will keep packing up.

@Ian you can also get diesel hot water systems too that alot of the big boys use. Either built into the van mount already or can buy separate to add to any wfp system that a few suppliers sell. Being that you already have an ionics system you are probably aware of this already.

Cheers Smurf I reckon the LPG version will be my choice low running cost low start up cost and easy to install by the looks of it.

@Ian as for applying chems using a pump up sprayer/12v backpack etc with a sprayer lance or attached to a wfp is a very common method to use as can spray more chems like tfr, virosol, ubik onto the surface than using an unger soap dispenser. Not only that you have better control of the dilution ratio too as is pre mixed.

If I was building a new system I'd use an immersion heater - the last few years I found insurance companies getting stricter about gas, and there is always a small safety issue with amateur installs.

Diesel systems look great, but the cost of the equipment and the running cost is prohibitive + they need regular servicing & maintenance.

Gas systems are the cheapest to run @ about £1 per day, Immersion systems can be not much more if you insulate your tank & use nightsaver rates to heat it, Diesel systems cost about £5 a day to run I'm told.

Immersion systems can be put together for less than £100 all inclusive - LPG is usually double that by the time you add all the fittings & extras,..

Thanks njones good points but re nighttime cheap electricity its only cheaper if your on a economy 7 deal other wise we all pay they same irrespective of the time of day its a long held unban myth that it is.

Thats not to say that i'm ruling it out as it sounds interesting especially with the trailer system as insulating and plugging it in would not be an issue at all, what sort of element would you recommend?
