So fedex came with my backpack, im never in during the day. I thought they would have left it, its a really safe house, just me and neighbour, or behind the wheely bins, no one walks down here. So what happens in these cases? I cant speak with anyone at fedex, tried my hardest, need an account to talk to a human, tried and it wouldnt let me/continue. Apparently they try 3 times and then just send it back to the shipper - gardiners. Thats just great aint it? Any ideas?

Oh hopefully should be ok, gardiners have emailed them to follow my instructions which was to leave it by the side/bins. Most people are not at home in the day so this must happen all the time.

didnt get a text, just their card saying they missed me and to download an app, I dont use a smartphone though. I'd already specified for them to leave it, as wouldnt be in. Hopefully gardiners contact with them will re-iterate this. Hope it dont get flung about too much in the meantime.

Unfortunately everything in this world now requires a smart phone / computer and an email address!!!! I haven’t ever had a problem, I think it’s logged with Gardiner’s to leave all delivery’s in the garage

The delivery driver just phones me to double check where to leave it, I think my phone number is on the label.

I don't think Gardiners have an option now about a safe place and I'm pretty sure Gardiners put a big label on packages not to leave them.

Hope they leave it tomorrrow, im out saturday as well so that would be it

Dont get me wrong, I know there are many addresses parcels would be nicked in minutes if left out , but ive moved to this little village now, plus behind the wheelies no one would see it. Ironic today was the one time every 2 months I was working in my home village so a quick call I couldv nipped down, but I appreciate they're busy.

Funny. We have had absolutely no issue with Evri.
Evri had a parcel for us, driver knocked on door and said I delivered your parcel a few doors down! He was asked to go and get it, he didn't! Then sent a photo of some random red garden gate. I went up and down road to find red gate but couldn't find it. About 2 months later someone from down the street knocked on our door and handed us the parcel! Turns out delivery driver had opened a neighbours gate walked round the back of their house where they had a locked red gate and threw it over that. So I couldn't see the red gate from the road and neighbour didn't use the gat at all!

If I know a company uses Evri to deliver I wont use them! I think it's mainly down to their local delivery drivers as I know others have no problems.

Our Evri driver and his brother have been brilliant. Never had an issue. The problem is that some aren't as conscientious as others. I get that.

Maybe we get special treatment as we regularly take in parcels for neighbours if we are in and they aren't.

Fingers crossed, I'm sure you can track the parcel via the tracking details in the email you get although I have never had to have a 2nd attempt for delivery with Fed-ex as all the lads over the years have been spot on, the current one phones just to double check about leaving the parcel, you could write a note with your phone number on so he can phone if needed that's what I used to do with some.

Same here well we think they are brothers they look similar, these have been two of the best over the years.

Amazon can be worst one young lad clueless, rang our Ring doorbell then took off to the neighbour didn't get an answer came back and put a package in a bush in our front garden :ROFLMAO: if he had only bothered to read the instructions on his device he would have known exactly where to leave it, they also get dumped on the doorstep when the side gate is locked when we go away so I have to text our neighbour so her son can go and retrieve it

Our Evri delivery brothers can have up to 200 parcels a day to be delivered 6 days a week. A quieter day would be around 120.
If a delivery driver in an adjacent area is away or off sick, then they are told to cover his area as well. And they are expected to do it in the same time.
They have to collect their parcels from the depot, so don't often get the first deliveries started until just before lunch.
I am often grateful I don't do their job.

I wouldn't like to do their job at all or other couriers, I am sure the price per package isn't that high but overall the pay must be worth it otherwise why would they do it, the two who deliver to us must be pension age so it must be decent top up of income and I know two others who aren't short of money but continue to do Evri deliveries both in their 60's

I guess that one side of it is the ones I know it's local work in their own towns and continuing work is good they aren't sat at home twiddling their thumbs they get to interact with people, I see quite a few retired who just sit at home and don't get out too much, it would drive me up the wall if that's what I had to do if and when I get to retirement age.

Round here they seem to be crying out for delivery drivers, 200 a day etc, some even mention 500 quid welcome bonus but I expect you have to sign up for certain hours etc for that. Most of the drivers are young foreigners. Mostly here the older boys do tesco or sainsbury etc deliveries.
