I think closed length is important for me as I've only got a peugeot partner and my 30ft pole spends most of its time on the dashboard blocking my view or on the roof wait to be nicked. A light 4story pole with a closed length of 5ft would be good.

i got a 26ft pole for an everyday pole and that hardly get put right up! so 40ft is way to much for a everyday pole unless you are commercial flats or office blocks day in day out
