Ionics Systems- Help

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Ok thanks. Yes very nice. What made you choose Ionics over the others out there (Xline & GrippaTank? Etc)? Out of interest?

I have an ionics syetems pro 5 1000 with a Grippatank 9 kw boiler psrsonaly prefer it to ionics thermopure ( had one and sold it) as the Grippatank one will give you two hot hoses ionics only gives you one and they split the water some goes to the pole and some goes back to the tank the valve they fit to do this is not user friendly it’s not designed for you to adjust the flow I always felt I wanted more water going on the glass but it was set to put more back to the tank , also ionics has either summer heat or winter heat the Grippatank one you can Infinitely adjust the temperature yourself a much better system , Grippatank ones can be added to any existing system that you have , the ionics hot box can also but I feel the Grippatank one is a better way of doing it

The Ionics one should not be splitting the supply to the tank , it has a pressure relief valve that opens to circulate water to the tank when the pole valve / univalve is closed .

If it’s splitting the flow then the valve is broken .

Mine from new always returned a percentage back to the tank and some to the pole i had this discusion with Ruban  Reynolds when I bought it , he said that was the way it worked ??he said that it was set up this way to keep the boiler running all the time , I agree with what you are saying but that’s what he always said and I phoned him many times complaining about the lack of water to the pole , if you used the other cold pump it was fine ,  I had it several years then sold it and now have a pro 5 with Grippatank 9kw and two hot hoses , works a treat ????

Strange , my old system with sureflow pump I always used on full flow all the time , with the pro 6 I have now I have to turn the flow down on the hot pump as the flow is ridiculous on full .

It only sends water to the tank when I shut off the univalve and that keeps the pump / heater running all the time , which keeps the burner in good condition .
