This is very correct, you can't pitch up and work if they are not willing to communicate you shouldn't be working for them as they have no respect for you so they need replacing, anyone that just 'pitches up' must be desperate for work.you have to have respect for yourself & the business you have worked hard to build."you text the night before"!!!.how long does it take to answer a text?i certainly would not turn up to clean there windows if I had no reply.you would be making a fool of yourself.sometimes you have to take the hint, they don't want you & move on.
The guys that 'need the work' are the ones that 'rock up' surely?we don't have any tx aheads any more ive dumped them , all ours are just pull up and clean , if we need to get over gates we use little gaints 5 runners . just a quick flick out and lift over the top , up and over we go . no going though garges and that bollocks ill leave them for the guys that need the work rock up clean and on to the next one
I have a mix of ones i contact and ones i just doThe guys that 'need the work' are the ones that 'rock up' surely?
It's funny you should say that as I'm considering dropping the " don't hesitate to let me know if not convenient " line, much like I dropped the " weather permitting " line when I was a bit twitchy about cleaning in the rain.I don't mind the texting, but I would never give them the impression that cancelling is an option.
Agreed, if people say leave it then that's the end of that NO more cleans. The few I have had reply negatively have only wanted to postpone the clean for the next time or another date in the near future. It isn't an option really. If they say leave it then I won't even consider going back unless they make contact with me.
Definitely drop it mate, especially if taking a hard line on them afterwards. You could end up losing a good customer that could have otherwise been ok had you not made them feel it was there option. Control the situation, you are in charge of when you turn up, the text it just to TELL them /emoticons/wink.png/emoticons/smile.pngIt's funny you should say that as I'm considering dropping the " don't hesitate to let me know if not convenient " line, much like I dropped the " weather permitting " line when I was a bit twitchy about cleaning in the rain.
But you've already told them when your coming so you can't take a day off coz then you'd get behind.I turn up when I'm supposed to. No need for me to phone or text them.
Agree with @Green Pro Clean Ltd its professional to say your coming - people appreciate itI always text mine the night beforehand, and finish with the line if its not convenient please don't hesitate to let me know? I don't expect the customer to make contact letting me know its ok ( saves them the hassle ). One of the few objections I personally picked up on and took notice of in the early days when I started canvassing was the a lot of customers don't like the WC just turning up unannounced and have received a lot of positive feedback regarding the fact I let them know beforehand. As with any trade/service I believe good communication is key to running a professional and successful businesses. Work for me anyway and I can honesty say i can count on one had the amount of customers that have postponed the clean after letting them them know that I'm coming.
