Hiya peeps

Got a problem with my backpack

The pressure switch doesn't cut in when I stop the water flow on my backpack yet if I unscrew the pressure switch housing and manually operate it it cuts out instantly

Doesn't seem to make a difference if I play with the adjustment screw either

Had it a year with no issues

Is it just a case of adjusting it until it cuts out??

Usually it would be a case of adjusting the screw until it starts cutting in. You would need to loosen the screw to make the switch more sensitive to switching off.

I use a similar pump to these on my trolley. It's also possible that the microswitch needs replacing as they can burn out with repeated use. However, I couldn't source one when I needed it. The correct one only has two terminals. You can use the same one fitted to the Sureflo pumps but you will need to modify the casing that holds it with a craft knife to accommodate the extra terminal. That's what I did anyway. Did the trick for me. If you can do this you won't have a problem sourcing one thereafter as they are much easier to find. (See pic for mod)

Thank you Alex I will have a fiddle with it tomorrow

The switch works when I press the button in on the microswitch so don't need a new one but great idea

If you can't sort the problem out with the adjuster screw, it may still be the micro switch beginning to go home. I had one that took two days from starting to act up to stopping altogether and another that just stopped working. It might be worth changing it to eliminate it if you feel confident with a craft knife. let us know what the problem was when you get it sorted. Have a good day
