I measured my outside tap at flats on a screw on meter.  It said 73 PSI or bar 5.  Is that pretty good? And kpa was 520, whatever kpa means.

How do flow and psi affect an ro differently?

73psi is pretty good for mains pressure. Mine is only about 40psi so I have to boost it to get the best out of my RO. I boost it to about 75psi to get good results.

i bought one yesterday and it read 65psi which is about right for mains pressure i think.

I'm hoping that will produce enough water quickly for an RO system - i really don't want it ti take hours and hours to fill. :1f61e:

I have a 450gpd and my pressure is 65psi it take approx 24hours to fill 1000l ICC tank.

That is good water pressure

Mine is 73psi but i am lucky

Others in the same area have 30 ish psi

I used that same device on the end of an x hose on kitchen tap and it went up high as well.  Planning on getting a 40 40 ro.

24 hours!!!! :1f632:

flipping heck! i hope mine takes way less then that or it wont be any use...

Is there a calculation you can use to work out the length of time?

Yes a clock lol, I timed mine at approx 500l in twelve 12 hours we only use between 500 and 600 litres a day my system as a auto shut off valve so I can leave mine over night if need be.

if you are going to need a lot more you could get a 4021 or 4040 RO I will probably upgrade myself in the future but my little 450gpd is doing a good job at the moment. I fill my van and drums every night then from a static Ibc tank then just turn my water back on and auto shuts down when filled.

There is a formula to work it out somewhere online but i wouldn't worry

I run my ro in a box on the side of my shed at the very bottom of my garden and the tap is on my house wall amd i have no noticeable pressure drop

The RO would be in the van rather then in shed/garage.

Was wondering if there was a calculation to work out how long it would take to purify.

My TDS is about 320, I would need to produce about 350-400 litres per day.

I live in a terrace house and can't really have the hose trailing to the van all night, just not feasible...

Cheers Dave, that would take me approximately 3 hours+ to purify then, if I can get 2 litres per minute.

That's certainly doable, hookup about 4 or 5pm, all done by about 7 it 8pm.

Now the search for a quality 4040 starts... :1f644:

Might have to go for an 'all in system'....

I have a booster pump in the van, I plug it in on an extension cable, and I can produce approx. 300 litres an hour.

A booster sounds like it's what I would need.

Hoping to get a K-system.... can't find much feedback about them, not even on this site
not many people bought the k stystems when they first came out spartan,if memory serves me right they started to get the reputation brodex had as in not answering phone calls or missing parts etc.

i honestly thought they'd pack it all up years ago.
