Hi guys,

I’ve had a quick search but I’m wondering if anyone has any experience of a pump that can work for both boost and transfer?

I was recommeded to get the Clarke boost pump by the people at GAPS (as it seems quite a few have), but as we’ve been getting busier and now have 3 vans I’m thinking of keeping a couple of IBC pre-filled at the workshop so we can top up quickly as necessary.

If needs be ill get 2 separate pumps, but didn’t want to do this needlessly if there’s a good pump to do both?!

Cheers, Dave

But for transfer AND boost, I might be wrong but I dont think the transfer pumps are suitable for boosting on your RO. I dont use a booster so not 100% but am sure ive read you need different pump.

You need a ‘low volume/high pressure’ pump to boost your RO, and a ‘high volume/low pressure’ pump to transfer your water from a static tank to your van.

Their ain't no pumps that would be worked as dual purpose pump

The old wortex booster pump from Gardiner does both, also has the flow switch attached so cuts off when the van tank solenoid kicks in. The issue with having one pump for both is the ideal conditions/set up for water transfer requires larger diameter hose whereas for boosting RO the pipe diameter ‘needs’ to be (from my limited experience) narrower. Plus I found it a faff changing over from water production to water transfer all the time (I used it for rainwater transfer from an IBC). I’m still searching for a high volume external transfer pump that will safely cut off when the tanks full.

Thanks guys, I hadn’t realised the transfer pumps were that cheap anyway so it’s not a huge drama!

Thanks
