Pump just suddenly stopped then started again, why?

Pump just suddenly stopped then 30mins later started up again. The controller's light was on all the time so I guess that means the electricity from battery was getting to it so why was pump not working?  Is it because one of the cables running from controller to pump has  a weak connection and needs changing? 

Also, I keep having issues with pumps or cables or could forget to charge battery.  Today was embarrassing explaining to customer my pump broken down.  What back up should I get?  Was thinking an all in one battery and pump in a small box which could throw in the van just incase.  Any recommendations?

Why not get a backpack as a back up ? I started off with one of these and is easy to do a days work with one. Still use it for jobs with awkward access

Would need all in on, so battery and pump together. I got trolley I am currently repairing.  Might try the back pack.
