Happy New Year to you all.

I've just fitted a new higher powered pump to a backpack. I just use about 15m of pole hose (ID 5mm) and the pump is struggling. I've been trying to figure out the issue and then yesterday, when i connected my 'hoseless' pole end directly onto the short, but wider orange hose on the backpack it pumped powerfully.

It's still pumping through pole hose but only about 1.2m length in the pole instead of 15m. Would that not affect it too if the problem was just the diameter of the hose or does the length have an impact too?

Yes the length and diameter will affect flow but we have 15 + meters on ours and don’t have any issues , are you sure it’s not got an air lock
I'm pretty sure it's not an airlock mate. I just wanted a second opnion before i buy some wider hose. What size ID do you go for on standard hose and any recommendation?
