Hi all.

Has anybody serviced there own electric reel yet. The chain has plenty of grease on it but how do you get in it to give it a clean etc is it a case of just unbolthing that side?

Does the motor tension it self of is it a manual tensioner.

Thanks

We run 8mm off our twin stack, have done for 3 years and never serviced it. Rang them about servicing and they just said it might need greasing and tensioning but as of yet not required.
Thanks for that. When I mentioned about it when buying it from them they said just return it to us and we will service it but that's a hassle even though its only an hour away.

Slacken off the 4 nuts on the outside of the reel and move the motor down a bit then re tighten , it’s not that good a way to adjust it but does work with a bit of fiddling.
You can take the angle section of above the the panel to to check the tension was told you only need about 5mm tension ,I used two screwdriver to pullthe motor down and tightened the nuts for the overun I was getting. ??

Theres a little hole above the chain on mine, I put some mountain bike chain lubrication for wet conditions on the chain via the hole. Worked very well.
