Hi all.

Firstly I have a slight leak on the hose elbow joint that meets the middle shaft I cannot get a spanner in to give it a quick tighten up. Anybody else had this problem I'd like to think there's an easier way then taking it all apart just to give it a quarter turn to stop the drip.

And lastly I noticed you could turn brake on and off after turning it to on I notice no change I'm guessing it should lock itself when not using?

Thanks in advance

@Part Timer may be able to help
Thank you.

Quick update the brass tail that fits into the elbow that the hosefits onto I took that off and put a screw driving it forcing to tighten the joint a fraction the brass joint looked like it had been leaking I don't know what they used on that section but it definitely was not ptfe it was almost like a fibre washer. I cleaned the joint up and ptfed it and tightened attached the hose and powered all of it up and left it to dead end with a build up of pressure and then reeled in with no sign of any leaking time will tell. But I would still open to any tips of a better way of getting to the joints properly.

They use a different type of PTFE is green in colour and fibrous looking, I have it on the outlet of my tank so I'm assuming it's the same stuff

Mine do drip a bit and it’s virtualy impossible to tighten them up as they are inside the centre spindle ,I had one shear off just with the heat and the reel had to go back to the factory to be repaired , mine are assembled using white PTFE tape , I would ring pf and ask their advice especially if under warranty. They are very good reels but not without their faults like all the others .

Thanks for that I managed to sort it last night.

I did call them and to be honest didn't really help.

For anybody else that may get a leak take the hose fully off and unthread the brass part. Get a screw driver chunky one and force it upwards this was enough to tighten that section and then I ptfed the brass thread and fit. Luckily that's sorted it I wasn't looking forward to stripping it down.
