Slx vs clx how rigid

Hi all i know this one has been done before and I've read the threads. But still struggling to decide!!

I'm going to put my first order in with gardiner tonight and torn between slx 25 or clx 27!! The Slx is clearly going to be a better pole and lighter i get that but is it a lot more rigid than clx? I can afford either but if I'm not going to notice the difference ur rather have the extra couple of feet length. Sorry if I'm treading over old ground but its a big purchase for me and i don't want to be wishing next week I'd got the other! Any advice appreciated cheers

You will notice the difference in flex and the weight will make a difference over the course of a days work

I haven't actually used a clx but i have used fibreglass and slx

The weight difference is amazing

Even 50% fibreglass would make a big difference in weight

I have seen clx in use and it does bend quite a bit at height whereas an slx is very rigid

I wouldn't want to be using my energy trying to control a bendy pole as it will slow you down

The Clx 27 is very bendy and it's not very kind to your back and shoulders, what height are you using your poles for?

Well my minds made up after reading your posts thanks guys the Slx it is. Poles Apart i will mostly be using it for standard residential where a 22 would be more than enough but a few times will need a bit more and i don't want to be messing about with extensions etc. So that's why was going for slx25. What's your opinion?

I use the clx 27 for some jobs-very whippy at height,its a no brainer slx

i started wfp with a clx22 and when i upgraded to the slx22 the difference when fully extended was night and day.

the clx is a great pole for the price but if you got the money go for a slx i say!!

Thanks for all the advice guys really appreciated.was pretty surprised by the video Adams that's a lot more whippy even at 18. The order will be going into Gardiners when I get home tonight then some practice on my house for a bit I think!!

My opinion is mate buy the 25 if you like but remove one section if that makes it a 22.I've got a 18 and 22 the 22 does 3 storey but if you needed extra length you can still add that other section I have no need for anything more than a 22.

I used to have a clx 27 as I thought I'd need it for 3 storey I haven't had a job yet where the 22 hasn't reached only maybe if you had to stand quite away from the window.

Cheers poles apart. Yeah the reason I was going 25 instead of 22 is I've been asked about 1 job with massive conservatory and won't reach there 3rd floor with 22 I don't think anyway. Just don't want to spend all the money then have to turn down a job like that when asked. Is it easy to take section out do you need an end cap? Sure I read something like that on a thread?!!!

You'd be surprised how far that 22 reaches most of my 3 storey the pole isn't fully extended. What I'm saying is there is no point in walking around with a 25 if you're hardly going to use it, my 22 feels like an 18 without that Aquadapter on now I've got Uni-Valves, if you're concerned get a 25 and take a section off and do all the round with it first just to see what you can do it might be all of it you'll still have that section as back up. The pole base caps are glued on when the poles are made just eek it off with a screwdriver get a number 4 section base cap when you order the pole and push it on you don't need glue you'll have to heat it up in hot water to get it on. Hope this helps?

Oh and get a number 5 base cap as well you might damage the one you take off.
