So do these systems have a pressure relief valve or does the coolant/water just expand in the header tank as it heats up?
The cap has a valve in it that acts as a pressure relief valve I found it didn’t work very well so drilled a hole in the cap and put a bit of hose up in the air from itSo do these systems have a pressure relief valve or does the coolant/water just expand in the header tank as it heats up?
Thanks for the info. A quick easy fix.The cap has a valve in it that acts as a pressure relief valve I found it didn’t work very well so drilled a hole in the cap and put a bit of hose up in the air from it
Yes. Sorry, using plumbing terminology there! Is the header tank another name for the coolant tank?
As it's the usual case, you need to check with the supplier you choose just exactly what they supply. Thanks for explaining all that @P4dstar it is really helpful.
So Pure Freedom are still at the high standard they used to be? That's good to know, as before WCW touched them, they would have been my immediate first choice for the hot water system
We have used that hose I liked it but it was so heavy found it lasted wellI use grippatank hydroheat hose 6mm id.
When water is cold it's a horrible hose, very stiff and twists up.
Can't see it lasting too long either, a year's worth of use and has multiple scars revealing the inner, reinforcing fibres.
Would be interested to hear what hoses others use with hot water
