Don't fall for it guys, silly trainig courses are only there for the creators of them to make money off you, with little to no promises of "gauranteed" work afterwards.
I saw a local farmer last week power washing (low pressure it looked like) some panels in a field of his, by the look of him I doubt it had any training and I also saw him down the local last night so he did not die from it. Prob tops his earning up mind you by offering to clean them regular for the solar owners.

@Trev81 I don't need to become embroiled in an argument with anyone. The training carries weight within our industry. People either want to do it, or they don't. I have sent out 7 jobs just today to 5 different Approved Contractors. These are established companies as well as new ones. They invested in their businesses and are enjoying the rewards. It was their choice, as much as it is anyone else's.

It varies @Tuffers but the money is fine. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have a network of contractors at all.

So it might be a stupid question but can you actually get electrocuted whilst cleaning panels. If so how many serious injuries / fatalities where recorded in the last five years. ?

A friend of mine whom is an installer for a major builder of Solar farms was seriously injured here in Nottingham last year when a Jeep rolled over his leg and crushed it.

To answer you question just search Google, I can not find anyone dead or electrocuted yet.

Yes is the simple answer. But lots of window cleaners on here seem to know more about it than me.

We started cleaning panels in 2011 and no one that I could find anywhere in the UK was cleaning them before us, despite my searching Google for hours.

The market only really gained traction in 2014 and because systems are all new currently, they are less likely to fail.

However, there has been a report of one electrocution from a window cleaner and I am strongly of the opinion that more will follow.

Like car accidents and many other new forms of technology, there are few instances to begin with, then they increase, then safety measures increase and incidents decrease again.

Knowledge increases awareness.

I didn't say that. How could I make that claim? Panels have been around since the 70's, before I was even born. I said I couldn't find a soul anywhere in the UK offering it as a service. Because I saw a gap in the market, it gave me an idea...

Just an update to say we have nearly 30 people attending on Saturday, but we still have availability in Cornwall, Norfolk and Suffolk and a few other areas.

The next course we run will likely be the last as we will look to focus in on finding companies in those areas and not run a course until we have located suitable companies.

If you would like to attend on Saturday, please let us know ASAP as spaces are now very limited.
