Starting to get a ‘window cleaners shoulder’

WCF

Invest in a lighter more rigid pole.
To be honest, I dont do it because im struggling, i do it as good practice to prevent future injuries and just thought it might be worth mentioning for others to try.

But yes, as soon as i have more than 15 customers (yep 4 months in and only habe 15 custys) i will invest in gear...and a van ?‍♂️

Working with your arm in the underarm position when holding the pole works wonders for shoulder injuries, relives so much more pressure than you realize. I’ve been using the pole since 2004 and 2 years ago I was told, that due to tendon damage I would never do my job again if I didn’t find another way. Working along side a physiotherapist, we found that working this way even at 60ft made the biggest difference, coupled with Extensive Rota cuff work at the gym and the Gardiner extreme poles. I’m still cleaning today. Even small things like the electric Reels make a huge difference on a busy day. It’s all about working smart and utilizing the best tools for your trade to make your working day easier. As a previous post said manual labour always takes its toll but we have some amazing kit in our industry now.

As already said electric reel, lighter poles And  brush, I have a dickie shoulder and just the electric reel worked wonders or me a couple of years ago have now recently got a extreme 18 and extreme brush hoping I don’t have to give the tools up just yet myself.
