I picked up quite a bit of work from people using 1 particular guy who was wfp but all the frames and sills were green

I am wfp nowadays and must say it takes some skill to completely miss all the frames

Mine get cleaned as i do the glass

No. I don't detail either. For me washing round the frames is extra, it's not cleaning the windows. But I always spray and wash off the sills. I was doing a farm this morning (first time), old wood stained windows, couldn't get a decent edge, so with wfp do you charge less because you can't clean the frame?

Will WFP clean up a brown window sill, for starters you cant see the sill 1st floor or above to what state its in. This is a genuine question, Cant see a problem with wfp on windows that have been brought up to scratch or new windows, just struggling to see how you can clean something with a stubborn stain, especially when you don't even know its there. I am being totally naive here, educate me if you must

All i can say is it's amazing

Pure cleans better than tapwater for definite

I can clean conservatory roofs from a distance and get all the muck off even the most detailed finials on the conservatory crest no hassle

The frames clean just as easily as the glass

When it comes to the sills i angle the brush so it is pointing down to the sill and give it a very good scrub

I know for a fact that they are clean and have been inside houses to check my work

Only a bad operator would make a bad job with wfp..same as with trad

Some of my custys i originally got as they were unhappy with their wfp guy

Now i have switched i assured them the quality of work won't suffer

They have all been more than happy with the results

Picked up a custy today when out, she was annoyed her windy didnt clean frames, once id cleaned them all wfp she was well happy to pay the £12 i requested over her windy who was charging £4.

You see Lew, this pi$$es me off to a point where my language will now result in chastisement from another certain member on here, or at least it would if I hadn't put him on ignore already! /emoticons/smile.png

Window cleaners that miss out windows after quoting a whole house need their f*cking nuts chopping off, the ba$tard teeth kicking out and a letter of the most agitated type being written home to their mothers!

To address you issues Lew, as for upper sills it is always worth getting out a ladder if you think it's needed on a first clean just to be sure the sills are minty, after that (and with experience) you will know when the sills are done right with a WFP.

For those worried about the cost of purifying water well they need to give up and go work at McDonalds or some other fine dining establishment, if you're not willing to pay for your tools and equipment to be top notch then don't bother playing.

The ones that cry about costs are the low-ballers, the ones doing 4 bed detached houses for £6 to get the job as they can wizz round it in 5 mins, miss half the windows and still swear on their mothers to the customer that all the windows were done.

As with all business costs, it is not you but the customer that pays, if you were £8 on a traditional job then you switch to WFP it need to coincide with a price rise to £8.50.

Customers don't mind an odd 50p here or there once every year or two as long as they are getting a quality service.

I get infuriated at window cleaners that short cut or like to see 'what they can get away with' as they give all of us a bad rep and are truly just lazy ba$tards.

I have some houses with tricky windows that even with WFP I cant do safely and I have told the customers this as opposed to telling them 'yeah, no probs' and then let them down.

Cause they realize the TDS is creeping up and reckon 'granny smith wont notice for another month or two' and use poor quality water and put off replacing filters etc.

Why did they waste their time getting a WFP setup to start with if they aint going to maintain it?

I buy my water and a 25l drum costs me a quid

That is more expensive than making it myself

I can do 3 houses with 2 drums so if i can't swallow a cost of 60ish pence to clean a house safely i might as well give up

All quotes i do now are a quid more than they would have been before and that covers the cost of doing a good job

nut when frames are stinking it be harder to do just glass espcieally when u have windows over windows ie

2 small windows over 1 large window the water will run thru the dirt theb wat u do just clean them we bits /emoticons/ohmy.png

NO, I didn't say that, you can't clean old wooden frames, you can put water over them, but not claim to clean them.

Couldn't agree more! These so called window cleaners are no better than common crooks, most pray on the elderly.

i got a lovely old lady whose windows I clean that came to me because she caught out her window cleaner once when she happened to be in (she's usually out) she had suspected for a while that he wasn't actually cleaning her windows and on this occasion she witnessed him pull up and put a card through her door. Then sure enough later that eve he turns up for payment. Shocking behaviour

Anyway his loss is my gain as she's so pleased with my work that she pays me £18 should be a tenner at most. Lately she's been getting me to do the inside of her living room, patio doors and kitchen windows as well and insists on paying me £25. Happy days /emoticons/smile.png
