University might not suit you, but you know this does. Less risk to stick with status quo and build it.

I wanted to be a social worker all my life. Got into the 3rd year placement and realised it was far too admin based and not anything like it was described as *red tape. Wasted a long time with that situation, and went back to social care until found window cleaning

My point is that it's more of a gamble in my opinion to do something different like university, while you describe yerself as having the drive to make this window cleaning work. In which case quite simply it will.

unsure where your getting your numbers from just had a conversation with someone that earns 20k a year and pays £18 if mr mikewell earns 60k a year his payback would be £54 quid a month a small price to pay in my opinion at the end of the day if you ever reach 60k a year then 54 quid a month is just so insignificant i wouldnt even worry about it

I know a bit about this as I previously worked for a government department advising ministers on education , writing speeches and briefings and contributed to white paper education law. I blew the whistle and lost my job and all hope of ever working in that sector again, I now clean windows, something I never thought I'd do but love.

i think i was talking about someone who went to university in wales who therefore had subsidsed fees meaning that over 3 years debts only 13k hence why low payback i sit down corrected -

University's a good life for three years as a student, but an undergraduate degree will add very little to what you need to run a successful business. And it will cost you tens of thousands of pounds (fees, living costs plus lost income).

Good once when there were no fees to pay AND grants to cover living costs - and when degrees were limited to around 5% of school leavers, so they had a real rarity value and made you stand out to employers. That's not the case now - getting on for 50% of school leavers go on to university, so it's no longer anything special to have a degree and in a large number of cases students will never recover the costs.

Save your money - invest it in the business.

All I will say is I think people like Lord alan sugar are the proof that if you have the mindset of wanting to be successful, work hard and not stop till you get what you want then you can do anything! He never went to uni in fact he barely finished school! You can't learn a lot of the most important qualities you need in this business. If you need qualifications or training in stuff as you go you can do loads of courses as and when you need em without landing yourself with a lifetime of debt.
