You must have a rolls royce work van with gold plated wheels. that quote as it's a right royal rip off
Is it an EV van?
VW Transporter with Grippatank system. Checked all comparison websites and few separate insurers and couldn't get any cheaper, Aplan was cheapest this year for me.

Have you personally spoken to an insurer or broker? Call Alexander Swan and speak to Claire or Sharon
I deal with Pietro but just got a new van, without a tank as it's my Gutter van, and found Admiral cheapest on the new van, no no claims. Got them to quote for my Ducato, with an 800l tank in, and they were £70 cheaper than last years premium.
Assuming a 20% increase this would make them over £200 cheaper.

Just had a look on Compare the market for a Peugeot expert 2016 for me, and employee put as named driver, put 5000 miles per year, came to £1500 I must be doing something wrong 🤦‍♂️ or does this sound about correct these days?

Got my cheapest quote through admiral, been with them for the van for 3 or 4 years now. Renewal was about £400, (which was £100 more than last year) rang them up to complain about the jump and get about £40 knocked off...
So why is my van insurance £800 for a 2008 Berlingo and that was from a comparison site with full no claims?

i happened to ring my insurance up a few weeks before renewal nothing to do with the renewal price [£700 ] and chatting about driving ,employees who drive or didnt want to etc turns out he didnt drive himself and had never wanted to apparently.Anyhoo he said let me see if i can get you a better quote,do it tmoro morn , im off to the beach [in the rain] but i will call you back.Next day he called and if i agreed it was now £241 . howsabout that then? LLoyds van insurance

20% increase on insurance over last year from Aviva. 10% increase the previous year. Nearly 20% on Public liability from Gleaming. It's the way it's going.
im trad whether that makes a difference ? but my van insurance actually went down [after i called them it was on course to double!] i ended up having a long chat with a non driver at the insurance about an Ldriver employee of mine who i had on the insurance but couldnt /wouldnt pass his theory .As regards PL and employee insurance yet again was no increase

Why trad?when you eventually go WFP you ll wonder why you didn't switch years ago....

Every single trad window cleaner who slagged me off for going WFP 14 years ago have switched now

Your insurance must be cheap as you only do 5 hours a week😂
