As the title says really but il explain a little..

I have a HF5 4040 upright static system from PureFreedom and I have been noticing that over time my transparent waste water hose is turning red on the inside, has anyone else experienced this or can anyone explain what it could be?

I have been using RO units since 08 but this is the first time I have put a transparent hose on the waste water outlet and its got me wondering.

Happens to me too. The pure water hose is still clear, but the waste water is brownish red.

It's natural as the waste water has a high tds and the minerals in the water deteriorate the hose.

If you inspect your sediment filter you will notice that the filter wall is also red after a while. Ours is really bad sometimes.

Our sediment filter is rated ar 5 micron which means that it only traps particles bigger than 5 micron in size. Any smaller particles of sediment (from 4 micron and smaller) will pass through the filter and through the carbon block filter as that is also 5 micron. These tiny particles pass into the membrane and out in the waste. These particles are red in colour so will stain the inside walls of your waste pipe red.

Hi, lived just outside Leeds for some years and suffered from grout, silicone and tight edges of sanitary ware turning red almost spontaneously from tap water.  I was told what it was but, have over the years forgotten forgotten.  I am pretty sure it is a dissolved mineral that the water picks up as it wends its way to the reservoirs.

Could well be. We have a 'red' stream which is from water seepage from old mining works long since gone.
