Only been on the pole a few months and do tops all the time, might start leaving them and do them now and again, only save seconds but they all add up I suppose

Its not the time, its the fact of the top lip of the frame can be hard to clean. When that gets wet, it will run down frame and onto glass = spots or runs.

Dont ever clean vents either lol.

Just brush over them with no water to remove cobwebs etc.

Just clean it all properly the first time round, even the vents, do them all first. Gives you time to get it perfect. It will also save you time and effort in the long run just by spending a little bit longer doing it.
I clean frame every time and don't worry about the vents as I have already cleaned them so doesn't cause me any problems. If the vent is dirty have you really cleaned the window?
Obviously not as the window vent is dirty.
