I've just made a box for my leisure battery from ply wood and just had a thought, is this dangerous?

What are the chances the battery could spark and set fire to the box?

SPent ages on this, but will get rid of it if it's maybe a fire hazard.

THanks for reply, how sure are you? THe ply is quite soft and splintery.

I wouldn't think a spark would be strong enough from a leusure batt to cause fire, if your that worried line the box with a cut off of Lino flooring or summet along them lines

My problem is I made it to measure cos the place my battery fits is very snug.

it should be ok, if you held a lighter to a bit of ply it would take a while to to go up in flames, so the odd spark wouldn't do it

If there was enough sparks coming off your battery to set fire to the box, i would be more worried about your wiring!.[hr]
The only way you would get sparks on your battery connection would be if it was really loose, so just make sure it isnt!.
