Was thinking of folk that cant heat van n to stop reel freezing.

Need quick release connections or similar, to attach to pump to suck out water from reel.

Advantage: reel ready for action, hopefully. if you use heater is you fill reel with hot water straight away.

Disadvantage. Actually takes a while for reel to empty. DSC_1140.JPG

Won’t stop it from freezing but on the odd occasion that min3 froze in the van before going hot I just got a kettle of boiling water and poured it over the hose reel in the morning and that thawed it out ok or remove the hose reel into the house if you can maybe??

At the end of the work day close the valve from the tank to the pump. Turn the pump on and drain all the water out until nothing comes out, Turn pump off.  Should help the pump or reel freezing as minimal if any water in them.  Hope this helps.

If you really want all the last bits of water out, disconnect the hose from reel and pull out the entire hose and reel it back in, guaranteed no water and no freezing in the morning!

ive started taking mine in kitchen, nice and snug for the night,    look after your equip.  it will look after you,  LOL  Cover the rest up in van with sleeping bags.
