Always wanted to do it but never did

The climbing is a good adrenaline rush

And bungee jump etc but climbing you get a sense of accomplishment when you get up there

My brother has his own outdoor pursuits business ,does canoing ,caving ,abseiling, climbing and all the mountain rescue and mountain leadership stuff, I did a lot of training with him when he was going for his certificates and bloody loved the climbing

I did a lot of caving round Derbyshire way

That was good fun

Waist deep in water deep under ground

And had provisional canoeing instructo certificates as a youngun

View attachment 3751 all of the tosh about ladders being banned is posted by folk with an interest in selling the wfp dream. these same people never mention how long term use of wfp does your neck in which is a fact you cant avoid it either .

ladder factories are as busy as ever,i got this from the horses mouth a lady at Browns ladders she had no axe to grind either . another little known fact is ladder firms outnumber wfp firms by a factor of 10- i was told this by a bloke who wrote the first draft of the heights directive, he was also making ladders in the evenings [getting paid double time too]

then theres steeple jacks , ALL those firms use ladders , i happened on a steeplejacks van last year and it had at least 20 ladders on the top

Some lovely caves up that way abs
I found a little cave when I was 13 in a little place called wetton mill ,a 5 foot drop led to a tight squeeze which opened to a area possibly the size of a escort van with stalactites and stalagmites, this cave lay undiscovered for 25 years after as its entrance was on a steep bank behind a large tree in a grazing field ,love the peak districk

There are some big ones around too

One we went down was a massive hole in the ground by the roadside with steel rope ladders to get down into it

Came back out about half a mile away

There is nothing wrong with ladders at all but it’s the odd idiots that use then that is where the problem lies. Most will not take chances and use ladders properly but then some are just brain dead. Probably from the last time they landed on their head /emoticons/biggrin.png

Who says ladders are dangerous.I have no problem with them???

I heard you can only be up the ladder for 20 minutes any longer you have to find alternative e.g scaffolding or cherry picker
