was thinking of cutting a couple of feet off my ladders eh feet as the width doesnt fit my ladder m8

because of splay

anybody done this?

Is it an A frame? If so, why compromise the extra wide safety feature just so it will work on the ladder mate. The are other ladder footing devices just as effective that will fit the wider feet.

I wouldn't cut it as then if you have an accident insurance will jog you on

Then again i was even dubious drilling holes for ankalad as is altering the ladder

You don't need to drill any holes in the ladder to fit an ankalad @daveyboy1

With the 2 bits of threaded bar steel it came with as you just push those through the rungs to fit the ankalad. You plonker rodney /emoticons/biggrin.png

Mine didn't come with that

It came with small bolts that you drill through stiles

Only just long enough to go through and put the nut on

Mine came with both so I had the option how I wanted to fit it.

I think the packer forgot to put them in on yours then:rolleyes:

Maybe they have stopped fitting them that way

It doesn't even come with the domed bushes for the rungs in your pic

Going by what norm has said it's 2' wider than his laddermat m8 so will not fit in it due to the splay

To answer your question smurf the ladder norm has is 2ft longer than he wants

I had a wooden chair that rocked a bit so by the time I had finished getting the lengths of the legs right it ended up as a foot stool /emoticons/sad.png/emoticons/biggrin.png

its a double A frame @Smurf about 8 m roughly extended

the splay is aprox 22.5 inches and my ladder m8 takes 21 inch aprox

thought i could just take a wee bit off the bottom wile still keeping most of the splay

not looking like this is one of my best ideas

appreciate all comments guys thanks
