Hi all,

So, I am now ready to start flyering and getting my business off the ground after getting the go ahead.

Ok, I am just wanting some advice on how I approcah this and if I can call on your advice on what I should do and what you fond best as I no there lots of you on here whom are now a sucsess and have valuble information to pass on to us newbies.

Flyering my 2500 flyers and will follow up with door kocking the flyers 5 days after. I also have my web site live and my facebook live so i can hit groups. I will stick some ads on friday ads and stuff like that. Is there anymore I can do? Help!!! I really nervous about the amount of people I will get in. I have all my equipment brought too.

OK, I get a call and its a booking and i first clean. I will charge slightly more and I will do all the frames and sills too, so next time the windows are easier and al ways look better.

Right..... the windows have water marks on and hard to get rid, the monsoon applicator does not really remove it well, what do you guys use? I cleaned my windows at home put applicator on with ample soap and scrbbed it, cleaned off with squeegee right away and detaled but the water marks still there....what do you use to get rid of?

What is your proceedure for firs cleans. I am not sure whats safe to use to remove the water marks.

Thank you so much for reading. I guess I am just nervous, have I done enough? I still need some bits equipment but have enought to get on. Just need to get the custys in?

sounds like youre very organized Scottie , thats good. wear comfy shoes when u go leafletting/door knocking and smile and laugh when chatting at the door helps.

have your price in mind, the bottom line, and dont ever drop below it, folk will try it on when they know you are green .

and Good luck ! got faith in you lad

as for water marks, what i say is i see theres some water stains on the back window,i can bring summat next time and have a go at getting them off if you want?

this ties them in for the secondary clean AND lets them know you are going the extra mile as it were

in BnQ they sell a limescale gloop in a small semi clear bottle that is ok on waterstains ,long as the stains are light. i forget its name but it looks a little like wallpaper paste and has a brush to apply it built into the cap

HI Boarcity, Yes well organised, to much I think. I need to get out there. I am now Monday, its going to be sunny monday and I just makign my facebook and web site tight and make a few posts with info and ill be ready. Will be out monday to all the stores and supermarkets and newsagents putting business cards in if they let me, then flyering, really shitting it now as this is my first time working in a year and its gonna be slow, but I need money too, so need to get some custys.

I will deffo not creep below my lowest price, I'll keep that in mind. I have had to be on the cheap side a bit with web site and some stuff as no money, but I can always adress that when i start earning and provide better promotion.

I just read on here how well you all do and think somone has to flop, its gonna be me. I will let you now how it goes mate. well appriciate all your tips on here. I just feel there is more promotion I am missing, can not put my finger on it. My web site does not even feature on google yet its been a month, but i not advertised it as not started yet, so hush hush its been. Facebook I got that ban for being social and joinging too many groups in one go lol.

Had our windy round yesterday again and watched him use ladders, awful one foot missing and rusty as hell, wobbling all over and he seemed ok, its not as high as it seems as your feet are well below the window, but will be scarey when up there, but practice makes purfect and this job is a dream to what hell I been in the last year. getting foot the ladder and a stand off, just trying to find the cheapest deal at present for foot the ladder but all the same it seems £70 notes.

Cheers:)

Good luck for monday scottie, you wont flop, as you get going you will find more customers come to you, recommended from your existing customers, i only started in april myself and was worried about not getting work! But i am pleased to say it has worked out so far and i am sure it will for you  once again good luck! Now get out there and kick some butt

its a numbers game, you might have to knock on only 10 doors before somebody says Yes, or 100 doors - but eventually somebody WILL say yes. its all in the lap of the gods , but at least you know from reading the forum that somebody will say yes.

i remember when i started out,i was sure the big firms would see me,the latest rookie , come over and kick out my ladder from under me "hey, what the F do you think youre doing pop ?" -

can laff about that now

Scottie you will be fine mate

Don't worry about supermarkets etc or flyering for that matter at first

Knock on doors..if someone says yes go round the back with them tell em you will do it for this price including frames sills etc and you are already earning money

Flyers are best for the ones who aren't in ..especially when their neighbours tell them how good you were

Once you get some work set aside an hour a day to canvass and it will build up before you know it

be positive all the time scottie the work will come, remember you have just started its a learning game you will get quicker and quicker and more confident

Do a great job and have pride in your work ,I'm sure you will succeed, good Luck Scottie /emoticons/wink.png

It's all about positive mental attitude

I am not one of these power of attraction weirdos but believe your attitude shows when dealing with custys and can make a big difference

Don't go with a noob attitude as in i might be able to do your windows well

Go with the attitude that it is easy and you will do it no problem

it will make a difference with a bit of self belief
