A newish customer annoyed me the other month so i dumped her, i have found u get loads of nice customers and build up great spots that can get ruined by one of two bad customers for a variety of reasons we all now about, u have to dump these ones otherwise they kind of polute ur round and makeu not like going to that certain road because of these odd bad customers. If u are working for a company theni guess u have to keep them Which is oneof the great advantages of your own round, cant be too fussy to begin with but as soon as u got enough work they can all get lost

Welcome to the forum. What a rude customer, I would not start until 9:00am really and if earlier I would ask that person and try pick one that will accept that so I cna get on that day.

Well my day today was going out to canvass door knock and fight to get some customers. YOU WILL NOT BELEIVE WHAT HAPPEND. knock on the door, so its opened and I get a flyer shown for window cleaning, so I play darft and say how much? He says £15 and I was, "thats too much". Anyway he goes on to say well I use a WFP system and no need for ladders and bad chemicals on your windows and I clean frames and sills, the best is to come now he said the following...... Traditional window cleaning is long gone now and its is not as good a clean as WFP, ladders damage your property and they often leave windows out as dont want to climb the ladders.... I said oh right, we had a WFP guy before but he was used no more as there were marks on the windows upstairs only small but enough to make window look ****, I dont like the WFP system as how can you see if any small marks are taken off form on the ground. Not much of a response other than, it does take away everything pure water.. I said no thank you I prefer a traditional cleaner just my preference, to get "well your windows will not be cleaned correct" To that I then said but he is face to face with the glass and gets all the little paint marks off and the little bits in corners that are so tuff to get off, can a brush really scrap off paint marks and other stubbon marks. Not much of a response.

I was just shocked again at the tactics used by WFP, its like a dig at the tradtional cleaner. TBH how on eath can you clean a top window better than a traditional method as your face to face and can see any mark. Just do not get the over played dig at traditional cleaners. I feel like making some posts on FB etc and down play WFP cleaning, it leave water runs and wet all over place so slippy in winter as many people do not like, also can you tell if all tiny marks are gone form top windows? really? But I wont I dotn want to its each to there own, just a kick in the face to have it done by soemone whom does not no how to traditional clean a window and scared of a ladder, makes him the unltimate window cleaner now and my method is ****, how ******* rude.

Anyone else witness this kind aof digging? I felt he was just to attacking on trad cleaners and no need to he jst needs to plug his own game and thats it. I should have said i was a trad cleaner, so your saying I am ****?My method is flawed? How I am face to face, if its not perfect I dont leave the glass, your the one that leaves the glass and can not put hand on heart and say it did not run with dirt out the seal, or dirt in wind got on the water before drying? I just left it at that, nice start to the day to be told again by WFP user your ****. Oh well. Class act that guy! lol

phone call from wife....oh....its not the result....its....he doesn't want to get his sandstone sills too wet as they will erode away...

so I phoned back ....lucky for me the answer machine was on and said I would trad only in future...

its okay folks ...hes a defo pia...

his wife has that permanent look on her face of a slapped fish....but...she always gives me the tenner with my bucket of water...before I have even done the windows...

they went a bit funny in the summer when I got so far behind after that storm of slime and said oh we have cleaned them ourselves as you have been so long....I politely pointed to my text address leave money out next day windowcleaning on the back of my slip...

but...next door sold and as luck was on my side....the neighbours daughter over the road had bought it so I was of course kept on to keep cleaning the windows and also asked to cur the grass....

so off I went cutting the grass....first time okay ...then the mum said you missed a bit at the side...well I didn't know where she meant but the grass between the houses has no border or marks and last time I just cut upto where pia neighbour had cut...

cause she said I had missed a bit....I just cut the lot...there isn't a lot of grass between the two houses...

apparently....he couldn't wait till the daughter came home and accosted her on the drive going mad about how I had cut his grass and ruined it...

we were all having a laugh about it but I felt very funny about grass gate....as I called it...

so two weeks passed and I was back to cut the grass.....and there down the side was two blue spray paint marks and a piece of twine to make sure I didn't get carried away..

and ...to top it all...the price of ten pounds ...its always been that must be eight years...well I never get a chance she just slaps a tenner in my hand...nowt so funny as custys...

Well I looked at both, I like the idea but I dont like being told I am ****, ok not direct but he put to me a customer trad guys are not as good, I woudl argue that to the hilt. How cana brush waving about remove a paint stain and rock hard stubborn marks and they have the ability to see up to 2nd floor and see no marks in any light and declare it perfect, I could not.

Just dont like being told my method is **** and seeing it a lot on FB ads recently slagging off trad work. Thats all my gripe is about I just feel its not proven and un called for.

Maybe your right tuffers and I am wrong, trad guys can not clean a window as well. I just feel imo that I can see the window face to face and no its clean when i go perfect and not a mark there, form the ground I could not see and make that 100% call and my eyes work fine. I just feel trad cleaning is not **** and we do a good job, I think there is a market for it as I have cusotmers now whom asked I dont wnat that pole things I have 8 whom have requested that and they want a guy on a ladder.

The main point is WFP maywell be great, I dont no enoguh about to make a definate call to go that way, as I am nervous about leaving the windows wet and knowing its done, hence I choose the trad way as I know I can get it looking great. BUT the thing is the slagging off of trad work by WFP guys (not all) its like they have to compete and try to kill the competition, by this new revolution cleaning method is full proof and forget the rest now... they seem to spend time hitting ladder work. Kinda deflating to a trad cleaner, a customer can do that but another windy to put the downs on your work method is **** practice imo.

I take it there has been wars abotu WFP AND TRAD then, Oh i think I will erase my post lol. I basically mean I feel its not nice to slag down one part of the window cleaning game, thats it! I suppose there plenty out there that like to do it then, shame, I would not disrespect another windy no way. Just my opinion on the matter about 10 years to late lol, remeber I am new here.... Iam off now to look for WFP and join the darkside now So I may edit my post, as you say if there has been wars before lol, god, newbie too and stiring it up lol I will get told off. Being honest I just think its a little disrespectful some of the wording used by him and rude, thats all. hey we all friends on here scottie and what ever your personal opinion its up to others to put up thiers as well but...we are and will hopefully not become like a certain other forum cough cough...I cant mention....we have friendly banter and chit chat and we are free to discuss our different ways...I mean....I know you shouldn't climb onto the sill and hang onto the gutter to get bird muck of a conny roof just cause your ladders are around the front and you have to go through two gates past a dog and the owner working in the garage to get them...and I had run out of water so I couldn't scrub it off with my pole...but hey ho...that's life ...

I mean I have killed myself today getting windows absolutely spotless in a killer sun and my wife just informs me that the recent shower was hail which can make a right mess of windows.......so why bother? I just say ...just keep swimming...

I love to read your posts scottie what ever you say as your enthusiasm for windowcleaning keeps me going...

mind you I have been secretly laughing all day at my use of the self drying water.../emoticons/biggrin.png

im indifferent to wfp, but if i read a wfpoler in my area is dissing the trad on their website or to joe public id make efforts to run them out of bizness . sounds dramatic but sometimes you hav to carry out a mercy killing,for their own good.

a new trad lad in my town has been stalking me, desperation is his middle name, boasts of undercutting on his website , this has got my goat, so far only lost half a dozen to him , my time will come .

that reminds me, a guy set up about 4yrs ago in Ipswich, flyered the whole town "any house £5" , he seemed to me to be busy busy and we exchanged the odd nod/salute ,as u do

.but today i see his tranny van for sale at the roadside, still all stickered up- has he bit the dust?

I no mate, sad innit. I got propper peed off with that guy can you not tell lol - Chill pill taken and moved on. Just do not like or understand people whom seem it fit to slag others off and within the same trade. Awful. I mean this place is all windys and you lot are brilliant and been so helpful to me I owe a fair few of you guys and yourself mate for advice and things I have learnt on here. Its odd to see others take digs, just the moral of it I suppose.

Well I no what you mean mate. Lol - I will keep going, I did ntopost on may forums until here, been a great site and such helpful people, as I said before its a shock to see another windy diss so hard anothers menthods to gain customers. Maybe its me and thats how its done, looks cheap to me though.

I still say a clean window is a clean window doesn't really matter how you achieve it...I personally always take the glass out and put new panes in ...its just my way..:rofl:

There is a guy just started in my area advertising on the local facebook selling page. Claims to clean windows the proper way using squeegies and scrim. Any house £6.

I don't like this much but figured he will pick up the ones I don't want, so gave him little thought until he rang me and asked if I need a subie. He has been at it for three month and proudly boasts twenty customers.

I told him that I didn't need anyone, so he said 'well water fed is sh*t so you wont have a business soon and I'll have all your customers'

I laughed and wished him luck.
