Well I now know I have got too much free time on my hands as I have started making random videos for you tube. My first was last week showing first efforts with a Unger 0 degree Swivel Loc well this next one is a quick (ish) demonstration as to how we do a first clean at Green Window Cleaning.

It's not intended to teach grannies how to suck eggs just to help total amateurs get an idea as to how to get a decent result with ease.

Constructive comment always welcome.

Nice demo green, good for your target audience, include as much info as possible for beginners, stuff that might seem really obvious can really NOT be obvious to a total beginner like I was in January (and in lots of ways still am). Things like, how many windows before you get a new cloth out, separate cloth for sill/frame and window detailing, how damp the mop should be, remember to change the squeegee blade if needed, I guess actually it's never ending if you include everything!

What I don't see a lot of is vids of trad guys teaching newbies how to use ladders safely when trad window cleaning tops. Now that would be interesting to see.

Unlike these numpties /emoticons/biggrin.png

I will do some during the week then

I need to do some for the new channels (thought they would arrive today..hopefully tomorrow then)

I am getting the bug for making vids

Nice vid Darren

I did one today but instead of the usual soaking i used diluted ubik in a spray bottle and a wet microfibre to wipe it off with

A lot less water everywhere

Ladder videos, especially bps triple combi with brace and standoff set for roofline, would be so popular I predict they'll win the sun dance film festival ;-)

I can do one of mine tomorrow with ankalad and standoff

Only mini standoff though as my brother has borrowed the microlite to sort some of his guttering out tomorrow

Same thing just smaller so no biggie

Not a hope in hell Smurf, the man that does a youtube video on how to use an extension ladder safely will end up as the accused in every court in the land with the Scousers (Fast Show reference) standing there with all their limbs in a cast saying 'well judge I watched the video on youtube and Mr Smurfy said this is how it's done, he didn't say I couldn't wear me wifes lap dancing outfit with me kid's roller skates whilst doing it so I want compensation!'

But slightly more seriously, if you want some advice on how to use a ladder safely come see me and i'll give you a couple of hours of my time but if you think it's going on video to be scrolled through and ignored at high speed then regretted later well think again.

I would not want the indirect responsibility of such potential mishaps Smurf.

Great video just seen it ☺

I can do a vid so jim can see it but i tend to leave my utube vids unlisted so general public can't see them

No you haven't missed anything Darren I signed up for the window cleaning page .

And there was a thread on there and I all I said was ì have come home today with sore wrists and elbows due to my mod squeegee as I think I have over bent on one side so I have had too put more pressure on the squeegee to preform . And all you get is you had sore wrists from using a mod squeege you must of been great on a normal one then I don't need this s*** I come on these sites to learn new thing not get the p*ss taken out of me . I am not even going to wait for the new channel to come out I am just going to buy a new squeegee tomorrow . Sorry for adding this on your thread Darren

Not at all mate, nice to hear what it is that does annoy people, helps the more experienced of us be a tad more humble and understanding of the fact that we wernt all born with a silver squeegee up or asses!

You say you bent your modded channel, and if you look close at the vid you will see the 10 inch brass I am using is modded by angling the ends, (tip I got from Polz N Bladz)

I did once try the dog ear thing but too delicate and fiddly for my liking. My one tip for moding with a hacksaw is buy brass channels, they are a little bit heavier and can take a touch more abuse. IMO

**** what anyone says on those other pages mate

I stick to this forum only now as i told them what i thought of them on cleanitup forum

I believe here we have people who truly want to help

I saw Bobs comment Green

It is nice to have a bunch of us who all want to make a difference

I think i commented on the same vid

Yes everyone is friendly and helpful on here dave has helped me a few times /emoticons/smile.png

Green i prefer stainless unger channels as they can handle more abuse when being thrown around and dropped

Ettore stainless even better
