How much does Solar Steve pay you per panel @SPC? I bet it's less than 3 a panel? How much commission does Steve take?
Hi @Tuffers You can't really worry about what we make. It is about whether the job is of value to you.

If you are looking at a fresh chicken in Asda, none of us worry about how much profit Asda will make.

It is about if that chicken is worth £3.50 to us. It is the same with any purchasing any product. If we worried about everyone's profit margins, we'd probably never buy anything.

Not sure where £3 a panel comes into it. I wouldn't charge that much regardless of subbing. Unless perhaps there were 16 panels and I had to hire powered access to do the job.
Personally, I have had to make a decision as to either pitch myself against clean solar solutions ( my business is 'solar panel cleaning, hence SPC) or work with him. After a lot of thought, and I like thinking, I decided that taking this training day and securing work via locally
You didn't know this at the time of booking your place @SPC but we discuss in detail the advantages of working WITH Clean Solar Solutions and opposed to against. The whole industry is built around partnerships, but we go into it in more detail on the day.

Well if Steve can get it, then so can anyone else, that's all I'm saying. There's no official certificate or qualification, so anyone can get the work if they go out and get it.
Personally I just wouldn't want to be advertising someone else's company and filling his pockets whilst I'm at it.
If you can get jobs I can get, I'm having a guy fly in from a massive German solar company next week, specifically for a meeting with me in regard to us cleaning 110,000 panels on one site.

Admittedly it is a first for us that someone is willing to make that effort, but it shows that we are a progressive company and that word of our reputation has reached Germany.

You could get that job could you? Where would you even begin?

I would only come on your course if it was free Steve.

Or if the certification actually had some meaning.

I clean a lot of solar panels Steve, commercial and residential, so tell me why o would need to spend money with you to continue doing so? There is absolutely no point is there?

I understand how they work, o understand the saftey, so what would be the point?

I'm not interested in being a subby, solar panel cleaning is not my first job, window cleaning is, so there's no need to pay for a course I what I already do and know about.

Interestingly when my Neihhbour had solar panels fitted the guys fitting them said there is ZERO chance of electrocution. Everything is water proof.

So we can wear rubber electrician gloves for added saftey, but on the whole it's very safe

@Solar Steve If people are happy with 50- 75% gross value or whatever it is of all the work you give them minus their own overheads/costs then fare play to them. However I too can earn a lot more money than working my socks off for someone else as I don't just clean windows for a pittance.

Like I've said before I know the in's and out's of running a national company so all this clock & dagger stuff until people attend your sub contractor course will inevitably **** a few off once they figure it out. Likewise once a few big earners have been involved in a large project or two and actually work out their net profit for their efforts then they may find out it's not worth the graft.

@Solar Steve balls /emoticons/tongue.png hes making a living and if people want to sub work of him fair play u arent paying for the course ur paying for him to tell u what way he wants it done as its his work and ur subbing of him

u have said numerous amounts of time that u wouldn do it etc but dont discourage others let them make their minds up

@Solar Steve might be showing people what otheres on here consider common sense but he is trying and having a go which is why this country is great if i could trust others to do windows for me id do the extact same and have a course and show people how to clean windows

there is companies that actually train you in how to clean windows wfp style

Contrary to popular belief @Heath window cleaning is not solar panel cleaning. The health and safety implications of solar panel cleaning is far removed from window cleaning. No electricity flows through windows as an example.

The course shows the best health and safety working practices, highlights how the solar industry is set to develop in the UK and explains how to incorporate solar panel cleaning as a serious part of your business.

You can read feedback from attendees to the previous event here: http://www.solar-panel-cleaners.com/solar-panel-cleaning-training-hailed-as-a-success

Attendees secure exclusivity in jobs from us in their area. We do not train two companies in an area.

We have secured a job for 110,000 panels on one site this week and will be using multiple companies who attended the training to help get this done.

Bla bla bla, still think it's stupid /emoticons/biggrin.png

There will be people who get fed up very fast and realise there lining someone else's pockets, thays when things get nasty,

Doesn't take long.

@Solar Steve can u tell me if you get any quieries etc from northern ireland ?? as if i would travel to england for the course i would need to know u have access to jobs over here

I'm happy to line someone's pockets as long as I do alright. People will always make money off your work? No dramas. Looking forward to the training day.

Where in NI are you? We have two companies attending already from NI, but you may be in a different area.
