Silicone Lubricant

WCF

Help Support WCF:

clear laquer is whats been mentioned on here, just sent off for some in fact. i use silicone lubricant for inside quick lok sections & stiff resi necks

Clear lacquer is to give it a fresh surface prevents slipping prolongs life etc, use gt85 ptfe or a dry ptfe spray to lubricate.

I use PTFE spray from Maplins does't dry very quick but I wear gloves anyway , but if you put it on windscreen of car/van hardly ever need the wipers on and when you do they don't squeek

I've used all of them, including the Gardiner one - they don't last long, personally I wouldn't bother, just clean then sections and put back together, within a week all that ptfe spray is rubbed off...

Went to local hardware shop Arkwright type not B&Q brought some beeswax its a bit like candle wax . Rubbed it on top 2 sections will let you know how it goes in a few days

This thread inspired me to clean my pole today after being hammered without much.....any maintenance recently. I didn't use anything , just gave each section and part a good wipe down with a slightly damp microfibre cloth.

Put it back together and extended it in the sun to dry off. All done in 5...10.....30 minutes (frickin kids kept distracting me) but feels like a new pole /emoticons/smile.png

I wasn't having a go mate, when you say the rest vinegar......how much is that exactly in water.....i may have not put the right amount in.

No worries didn't think you were having a go .I am in a hard water area so you my need less in a soft water area . In a gallon of water 1 drip of ecover and 20mls ( 4 tea spoons ) of distilled vinegar . Only smells when mixing. If doing internal use same ratio in a spray bottle just add 1/2 teaspoon of jif lemon just in case there is a slight smell. Did my kitchen windows this morning looks like there is no glass crystal clear
