Nice one Tench. As you know I used to be in the police but I wouldn't go back. I just love this working lifestyle.

since iv had 3 workers iv had no end say to me , "here comes the millionaire / oooh its the big man himself / yeh thats right you collect the money
as if im doing very little actual work. truth is im on the ladders all day but its like im invisible

and quite often i hear customers saying to my lads "is he treating you right?" as if im suddenly a real ogre

whats worse is my lads play up to them when they ask , looking downtrodden /hurt very convincingly ,the beaten look
yep tell the customer you purchased these lads at bargain price in the slave market in thailand that will get em going

carry a whipp

What an interesting post this is. So many true statements made and statements I can relate to now working in window cleaning.

I worked in an office for years and years and I have to say what a horrid time it was, it was reliable money, not great pay but regular and safe for me. The atmospher was awful and typical of an office enviroment. The, "all I do is live to work in the office type and the back stabber types. I hated every minute, the same desk the same view the same miserable people, why anyone wants to work in an office is beyond me now.

We used to have window cleaners do our office once a month and I always looked out at them, they were chatting having a laugh and seemed to all get on and be happy and I alwasy thought thats a nice job, but the works in my team took the **** saying what a **** job, cold and **** money and "oh you missed a bit" out the window to them.

Anyway, I one day just said f*CK it and became a window cleaner, took the plunge and went for it. I have to say it is a fantastic job and what other job gives you freedom, be your own boss, no one to answer too, good money, plan your days as you please, no pressure, in the main nice working enviroments and around people pleased to have you there.

I always get the vibe that customers not all think you are below them and get comments that indicate this. I find it odd as they no how long it takes me to clean to their house and how much it is, so not hard to work out I earn can earn £150 a day or more. I often have convos with people whom have made comments to the fact that I am a window cleaner so struggling to make money and get by, can you afford a holiday this year etc.... I play the card tbh, I feel if they no how much I earn they might get funny as I am earning more than most my customers, I dont no many jobs that pay £150 or more a day, where the hours are shorter and you have no one to answer to.

I just feel good about it as I am having a more carfree life than most he people I know and friends, they all stress about work and hate it or dread mondays, have to stay late to finish reports, meetings, oh my god thats such a no no. I now laugh at the friends that told me "no dont be a window cleaner" I am out earning them and less hours and no stress or anyone to work under.

Greta job, to me its no tlike goign to work, your free just going out doing a role thats easy, but with a bit of hard work with it and your go out to get money, its like a game and is fun!!! LOVE IT! So to anyone that looks down on us or des not understand whats involved and how much we can earn, jog on, open your eyes........window cleaners win!

"Can you afford a holiday this year" lol

Only 3 this last year I'm afraid (turkey..france and spain) as I'm a poor window cleaner:rofl:

I hate this perception of windies earning beer money

They only thing I really need to know or care about is the fact that these toss pots paid my mortgage, sent my daughter to uni without student loans and keep my fridge well stocked with all my favorite treats! /emoticons/smile.png
I dont care what they think of me at all, I have however torn customers up with verbal and sacked them off for how they dare to talk to me or even my crew and I don't care how posh they when I get verbal on them they know they've been told (and so does half the rest of the street for that matter) /emoticons/tongue.png
Here here! i know what you mean i have been cleaning windows now for just 2 years & to me they all think i have not got a pot to **** in as you say! & that is why i must be window cleaning? what ever!

Had a customer say to me that he's paying me to much when I turned up in my new van last month. The next day he see me getting in my car and shouted, where you off to in your flash car? To which I replied, I'm just off to put a deposit on my new motorbike. Loved his face when I collected my money off him with my Harley ticking away outsde

Three months ago a family member was taken ill, as some know my wife is from South East Asia (and she voted UKIP)

Her family are very well to do, but were suddenly faced with a large medical bill in an asset rich cash poor situation.

So I did what any son in law does, I paid the bill.

We thought you were a cleaner?

AND THIS IS MY OWN EFFING FAMILY!
