Window cleaning van supplier issue

How much are you out of pocket with this?

Just in January I posted my comment about this business.

https://windowcleaningforums.co.uk/threads/baileys-wfp-systems.38068/#post-559163

My opinion, as an old timer with probably less than 5% of his life left, is this; Is it worth the hassle? Some will argue that it's the principle, and I don't disagree. But this man doesn't seem to respond to issues customer's have after purchase. Is it worth all the drama trying to get your money back for the repairs which, in my opinion, aren't major.

You could have sent the van back, but you choose not to. I get that. But my feeling from other's experiences is that you are "flogging a dead horse." (Excuse the terrible expression.)

This is a different, more serious case. Some of the suggestions in this thread agree with the points made in this video.

My suggestion is to write it off against tax as a business expense and move on with life. Focus on your business. I agree what's happened isn't right, but he could end up saying that he never said he would pay for the repairs.

We have recently read about a business owner saying in court that he didn't know about the safety issues regarding strapping an IBC tank into a Transit van, which resulted in the death of an employee (which he called a subcontractor.) He was warned numerous times on the forums that using ratchet straps wasn't safe enough; he just lied in court.

About £600 down all told. Was 5 issues. Advertised with a full service history as well which it doesn’t have. Just shoddy shoddy practices and very unprofessional manner in dealing with it. I have contacted the finance company. Thanks for your input, wish I saw that before I bought the van! Lol

Oh dear! Probably the reason why he hasn't responded. I would take that further.

Sales description act could well come into this if you have screenshots of the listing or anything else to back this up.

Hindsight is great thing, but would have been best to do a AA vehicle check to do some important checks, although this wouldn't have covered service history records

id post about it everywhere and anywhere, naming the shyster.Even if i took it further with trading standards likely they already know the guy this wont be his first rodeo.Name him > So that if anybody happens to google this company in future Your posts come up first, iv had to do this twice [in the past] but not with a van supplier. 1st was a language school, closed that down and second was a building firm that ripped me off i did not close it but it cost them dearly.

It seems with Bailey the systems are ok, not crashed tested but seems to last ok. But the vans can be dodgy. Which I suppose you take a chance with second hand vans. That being said as a trade seller there are things he should be adhering to that he clearly isn't it.
