What annoying things did colleagues do when/if you were ever employed as a window cleaner?
For me, the single worst thing is the situation where you have someone who doesn't clean top windows, you have to clean top windows all day while they do the bottoms. Now, this wouldn't be so bad, but some insist on working ahead of you all day, cleaning bottom windows before top windows have been done. They also insist on working underneath you while you're up a ladder (puts me on edge, since it's dangerous).
This means that you are having to use a more or less dry applicator, mopping up water, catching water back on your applicator, wiping (or even full cleaning again) windows that have already been done that you've ****** water all over. And also, that person has the bucket and buggers off down the road, and you have to walk 100 yards for a dip.
I mean one guy I used to work with was a complete hypocrite. He would applicate half a window, then rake his blade over it all (couldn't do that, I had too much self respect), think nothing of working 5 houses ahead of me. But if I ever worked ahead of him (like it should have been), he used to get really angry. "drop down!", he'd say. Some kind of inferiority complex, or something...
And this guy wasn't even getting paid by the house. Not that he was my boss, he was just a fellow employee, but he'd make us effectively work so much faster, that we finished the week early and basically did ourselves out of a days wages. All so that he could have friday off and go and blow all his wages on a horse. And he didn't even do any collecting, I had to do it all...
