Help Support WCF:

I only had the van 6 months it has 114 k on It, iv changed the oil and serviced it as soon as I got it, probably due to poor ownership from previous owners, the oils been changed each time the turbos been changed also so hopefully he gets it sorted and I can shift it on, Iv now a vivaro and I love it , the room difference is far better. I definitely agree oil change every 5k without fail

As you say that stevie I have a 1.6 hdi, was giving out black smoke and I got the egr valve cleaned out, still was doing it, 2 weeks later the turbo blew got it sorted done the timing belt and 2 new tyres, 3 days later turbo went again , mechanic got the turbo under warranty if he changed the oil pump also , he also bypassed the do filter and the egr valve with a remap, 3 days later turbo went again!! Presently under warranty with the turbo again and now he has to dig down deep into this carbon build up , these vans are so bad the majority of places won't offer warranty with the turbo , my opinion don't buy a french van !!! Vw all the way
Hi mate yes most new turbos come with no warranty if the current procedure isn't followed

The problem lies with the turbo oil feed pipes and he filter getting clogged with carbon

There very dirty engines and need servicing very regular

The sumo has lot design fault where all the oil doesn't drain so lot crap in sump so remove it and clean

Get your mechanic to clean the feed pipes mate and check injector bolts they come loose with vibration and these causes massive carbon build up

It's a 10 min job mine come loose once a year

the 1.6hdi can b a nte mare the enging shxxxits is self blocking the oil pick up feed pipe blowing the turbo i wouldent get one the 2.0hdi is the one to get

Ahh be why seen Chris take sign written of today , vivaro are go vans when there working but pain in ass when there not

As mentioned above, the oil feed pipe has a mesh/gauze type strainer in it that gets clogged up thus restricting oil flow to turbo- unless you change this as well then just changing the oil will have little effect on turbo life. Best advice I can give for 1.6hdi is to have the EGR valve blanked off- mine's been much better since having it done- no more black smoke!!

Peugeot expert is a bit bigger but not large. Non turbo engine is not powerful but I suspect can run on old chip fat
