Fair do's regarding the pole, I am keen to try another pole purely due to the advancements in clamps as these for me are real game changers, I just need a good review from someone who has used one of the new poles in continuous daily use of around 12 months as this is the real telling point of longevity.

I have sang praises of other poles over the years prior to 12 months of use and once I hit 12 months or so I found I was replacing poles.

having heard about the phantom ,iam tempted , but after using euro threads, they don't always line up the screw thread differs from angle adapter to angle adapter and there for your pole hose comes out the side or underneath some times the brush is scew wiff.i prefere the idea  gardjner way of fitting so may be when I buy my first pole it,ll be a slx 22 ,

I use a phantom with a Gardiner swivel neck adaptor and brushes. No issues with compatibility at that end. The only ‘slight’ issue I had was when I fitted the univalve to mine - it’s a snug fit in the narrow top section so I have to shave a bit off the diameter of the univalve body. I think the newer version (called the phantom univalve) is slightly narrower though?

Hi PJJ ,you saying you don't like euro threads eather?Looks like gardiner swivel assem will fit in end section ok glass act?
The Gardiner ‘neck’ doesn’t fit in the end of the phantom, I just unscrewed the angle adaptor lower section and replaced it onto the phantom top section. I used the phantom clamp as the material is far superior. Hard to describe I’ll try and find the photo I put on when I first did a review.

No horrible things I struggled to get the brush to be straight , and get the angle adapter at the right position  with the threaded things , never did like them the Gardiners quick lock system is far better I wouldn’t go back to threaded stuff as far as Ime concerned it’s way out of date

Unscrew at angle adaptor (gardiner swivel) unscrew at angle adapter phantom, and join together?

OK... referencing the attached pics let’s try and clarify how to use Gardiner brushes and adaptors with Phantom Poles. I retrofitted clamps to my Reach It so had no need of the #0 clamp (without shim) so the Gardiner Adaptor fits snugly inside my top clamp which is the #1 Phantom... obviously with a Phantom Pole this isn’t going to work because their top section is one...ish size smaller than the Reach-it top section.

now check the other pic... the Gardiner Angle adaptor. IF the teeth count and size is the same you can interchange the top part of the Phantom adaptor with the Gardiner one. You would need to then check to see which lever works best with your new ‘Hybrid’ adaptor but one or the other will be fine.

Ive done this very thing with the Tucker Pivot (Tucker Top, Gardiner Bottom). 3rd Photo...

You need to clarify which adaptor comes with the pole now. When I brought mine it came with the screw thread. I then purchased the angle neck set when it was released and mashed the Gardiner one with it. The teeth match up and the phantom lever has been a lot better longevity than the Gardiner one seemed to.

I bench grinded my gardiner goose neck to fit

Yep I did this also, works just fine.

When I went to the show I took a gardiner gooseneck with me to try for this very reason. I didn’t get there till late and there were only a few poles left. I tried the gooseneck in the the standard carbon 35ft pole. It fitted fine and I thought all was good. I ordered the hi mod 22 and when it came I was surprised the gooseneck didn’t fit, hence grinding it down.

The top section and clamp on the 22 I think they call a #0. Just a guess but I’m wondering if the top section of a 35 pole is a #1 as they may consider the #0 not to be tough enough at that height. A gardiner gooseneck May fit as standard depending on what pole you buy. Maybe worth asking wcw.

Or maybe for some reason they didn’t have the top section in when I tried it at the show ( just to make it feel lighter)?

in response to someones question about  comparing it to the extreme, I have an extreme 22 and a hi mod 22. I prefer the phantom.
