Hi guys

anyone know if there is anything you can use to pump/transfer water quicker and easier from a 25 ltr drum to my gardiner back pack? sick of lifting drum up to fill back pack... like a sub pump but mini for drums etc etc?

thanks all

I thought you had a van system?

If you google 'small transfer pump' you should find lots of options mate

You can even buy 'pump up transfer kits' manually pump water across - no need for battery or power then /emoticons/wink.png

Could you not just syphon it with a bit of hosepipe?
That's what I do if I need to fill my tank with the spare water held in the 25ltr barrels, but it can be a pain as you need to always get the big heavy barrel higher than the backpack etx...

hi mate

van coming week comm 17th august then van mount quick as can after that, cheers

Crikey, what can be easier than pouring it straight in? It takes seconds?

I rest the weight on the backpack neck so not a problem but glugging is a nuisance..
and the urge to pee...
If you turn the barrel 90 degrees (so that the handle is horizontal NOT vertical to the floor) it will help stop the dreaded glug on the outflow of water .

Spot on bingo have barrel outlet at top and don't try pouring to fast you need to let air into barrel at the same rate as water is coming out , Unless you are putting an additive in water then the glug will help it mix

Hi Paul what you want is a 12v bilge pump or a caravan inline 12v pump (could be too slow)

We fill a back pack in around 5-10 seconds.

Only issue with a bilge pump could be getting it into the hole of barrel.

We did have one that fitted, but cant find link.
