Cheap as possible WFP experiment

So about a year ago i was going to set up a nice system in the pick up but kept seeing posts asking how much does WFP cost and also seeing brand new guys spending literaly thousands on a system when they haven't even got a customer yet and I figured, with this video in mind to put on the forum, just what is the cheapest you can do it?

So for the last year I have been using the cheapest possible set up I could build, and I have to say its not let me down once and works spot on!

Also meant to add in the video I did up until two weeks ago have two water butts with my water in, but unfortunately I had a little bit of an archery incident and put a hole in one of them....... so down to just one at the minute.

i love your DIY route i have to admit its different from what im used to seeing /emoticons/smile.png how long has the DI vessel lasted you, what litre is it ?

7 litre I think it is, as its only cleaning 014 ish its lasted about a year so far and still 000.

I fill my barrels the same way but i use an £11 bilge pump and 12v battery

Pumps 1100gph so fills drums in seconds

It's the whole point of DIY. And it's just as gd as the fancy systems ..

Just made a diy hypo sprayer from a harris pole and the lance from a pump up sprayer

Cable tied the lance handle to the harris pole and ran some pole hose up the centre of the pole

Drilled the end of the optiloc cone i had on it and fitted the lance spray end

Now i can hypo stuff from the ground with my diy trolley

I do love diy

Cheers guys I just wanted to prove you could do it really cheap if you wanted, I then ran it for about a year just to prove it works.

It has actually surprised me how reliable it's been.

only thing i cud say to make it cheaper is go with a cheaper pole ... i use a extel pole for staff as clowns arent wrecking carbon fibre lol

That pump box is great. The contents of it is pretty much what I've stuck in my freedom trolley to reduce its weight and it works a treat. It's really heavy in its stock form and completely unnecessary IMHO. But that's just me.

I think your video is going to be helpful to a lot of windies wanting to make the change but worried about the expense.

All in a toolbox on the footplate and stick a 25l drum on top

Diy is the Way ! My system cost a third of the Price of fitted vanmounts . On the plus side is that if anything Jams up , i know everything in my system and Always carry spares ! :thumbsup:

Yeah the pole is obviously something you can do much cheaper, even going with a 5m Harris pole, but that CLX is pretty cheap for what you get and worth the little extra cost, but agree you can do the pole/brush a lot cheaper.

I try and make everything I do as simple as possible, less to go wrong, easier and cheaper to fix etc, I do the same when i customize motorbikes I rip everything off lol

Don't get me wrong there are some people working with lovely systems which are a dream to use but i am now getting in to the world of pressure washing and softwash etc and to do it all with too notch gear would cost a fortune so for me as long as i can supply water to my brush to do my window customers i don't care about anything else

As long as i can set up all the gear i need for the services i offer then the cheaper the better

I made my own like that with a hand pump sprayer

That is a hand pump sprayer lance used to make it

The handle is on the bottom of the pole and the spray end on the tip

I bust the pump up jobbie so thought i should use the parts

Sprays well from a trolley or backpack

That was exactly my thinking as well mate, I am not fulltime on the windows I pressure wash as much as window clean and would rather the dough go on that.

At the end of the day I flip a switch and water comes out of my brush..... what more do you need?
