DI Vessel Conversion

It's been suggested on here that I move my DI Vessel from my van and into my garage with my RO System and IBC Tank to minimise probs from water pressure whilst working.

I'm gonna need to change my current DI Vessel Hozelock fixings to John Guest fittings instead. I cannot even see for looking on their website what the correct fittings are, and it's doing my brain in.

Has anyone else got John Guest to DI Vessel set-up??

When fitting systems and it’s pump to Di vessel I do use JG fittings. So you you need a reducer 3/4 to 1/2 inch then use 1/2 JG fittings. I have numerous JG fittings but not on website.

You need a 3/4” bsp male to 1/2” bsp female nylon ‘converter’. Then just connect your usual diameter John guest fitting to the 1/2” female socket. I use 1/2” tube so it’s a 1/2” bsp male to 1/2” John guest push fit hose.

this is my set-up atm, but obviously I want to add the vessel to the set-up with the out-flow going into ICB tank. 
Can you supply me what I need?



Vessel

It looks like you have Hozelok tap and hose connectors on your di vessel. Looking at the photo the fitting on the right has a yellow and white tap connector.

If you unscrew that you will be left with a grey fitting which should be a 1/2" male thread. It looks the same on the other side except the tap connector is brass with a white plastic reducer.

You need 2 of these,

These fittings are for 1/4" push fit hose which is what those r/o's use. Screw these John Guest fittings onto each grey fitting in the di vessel's head.

Just be careful the DI Head does not crack. 
 

Plastic BSP port with Tapered metal thread is not a good mix as some have found out.

This is my setup with a reducer from a garden tap to hose lock fitting from b&q. They are john guest fittings. No leaks for a couple of years now, not expecting any. I have made a few minor changes to what's in the photo, if you want me to go into more detail of changes and why let me know

Excellent. Thanks for this. Your hosing look quite a bit larger than I have. I’ve bought a couple of bits recommended above ?? which I believe are arriving today. I’ll see how I get on, and come back to this interesting set-up with the thicker hoses if I get stuck somewhere.

I've changed the tubing between the pump and the vessel, and between the 2 vessels to flexible hose with a john guest barb fitting. This means the fittings arent taking the strain of stopping vessels moving in the van, but other fixtures are. I've included a t junction with a hose to a valve after the 2nd vessel to use to fill the backpack. 

In terms of size of hose, its 1/2" because that's what I took from my 4040 ro which I've stopped using to use double di instead. 3/8" would be sufficient and I think that's what is on the pump i have.
