Next I put the inlet hose on. Heat the hose end in hot water and force over the pump connector. Secure with a hose clamp. Then apply some PTFE tape to the pump thread and screw to the pump.

Get a good loop around the front to go into the water container. I use a straight tube that is in the container to guide the hose down to the bottom. apply a little red tape to the top of hose so you know the exact position when the hose is at the bottom of the water container.

Then I made the guard from the galvanised conduit. Cut a length that will go around the container and bend into the right shape. Screw to the trolley (as pics) preferably using nylon thread nuts, and tighten so the guard moves up and down but is stiff enough to stay in any position.

Next, I attached the outlet hose the same as the inlet.

The other end of the outlet hose is attached to the reel using a claber/ hozelock type connection and a swivel connection on the reel.

Now for the hose. I used 30m of gardiners all season pole hose.

Attach a hozelock type connection to one end and a fitting to go to your pole on the other end.

Now I attached the hozelock end to the inside of the reel and wound it on

Next I made a pole clip using wickes 40mm plastic weld pipe. cut 2 pieces cut a little section out, wrap around one another, Drill and put a bolt through, then put some foam padding inside

as pic

Then attach to the trolley

For the base of the pole I put an angle bracket and a small container for the pole to stand in

For a proffessional look, I touched up all bolts and bare metal with green paint and put a caution sticker on the back for accident prone humans to read /emoticons/smile.png

To use as a Van Mount, you disconnect the hose from the Trolley reel and simply attach it to the van reel. Use a hose connector and some more hose to connect to the inlet hose on the Trolley and feed it into the tank in the van. No really tight connections have to be made here as there is no pressure at the inlet end.

And finally a pic of the Trolley working with pole.

A final note. Drill a couple of small holes in the base of the pump box for water drainage just incase of a leak.

For anyone thinking the pump is the wrong way, in the manual it says that these pumps can be fixed any way around but maybe avoid upside down incase of the unlikely event of a water leak.

Oh dear it seems now you have started @Tuffers of on a trolley fetish too /emoticons/biggrin.png

Great job...well done:thumbsup:

Cheers fellas, Thanks for the good comments.

Well the info is there to make one, if you can follow it /emoticons/smile.png

@scotty_boy , Not sure mate, I'm taking it out for a good days work Tomorrow. My other Trolley only has a 9ah battery in it and it does a good 8/9 hours work easy. I only do Tops WFP though 90% when I use a Trolley. Bottoms Trad. The 22ah battery should be fine although the Shurflo is a bigger pump.

What do you fancy making next?

Maybe an on demand ro/di diy trolley would be great to see how it's done.

Haha. I would need to buy a dear RO for that, which I don't need. So I dont think I'll be making one of them in the near future. It would be too bulky though IMO.

That's a good bit of kit jimmyboots. What made u build that over your old one. Did it wear out or fail?

I have a similar setup, but use an aluminium trolley for light weight (but more expensive).

Took your idea for the real and fitted it to mine (ages ago), but I use 30m of 6mm microbore with mine as I find it does not tangle as much.

I'm gonna nick your idea for that pole clamp, as I'm sick of carrying pole in one hand and dragging trolly in the other lol.

With my trolley I need it to fold small as still operating from car.

Do you find the sureflow pump better than the cheap china ones? (mine still going strong after 9/10 months, but i do use a cheap china remote which is still working really well.)

how many hours do you think you would get out of that battery?
By the way I fitted the largest battey I could get in my trolley which was 12 amp. It lasts me couple of days work. (that's not going below 12.3 volts so well over 50% left)

My other Trolleys fine mate. I have replaced the pump and battery after 12 months and am keeping it for gutters/facias and conny roofs. Also as a backup if needed.

The pole holder is great as I use an 'A' ladder as well, so, trolley in one hand and 'A' ladder in the other.

By the way, hows Fred, Haven't seen him in ages. Do you use glass now for the windows in Bedrock ? /emoticons/biggrin.png:D
