But you won’t get anywhere near as hot water with an immersion unless you have a very well insulated tank it cools down quickly

I have therma wrap round mine, my waters still hot when i finish, my immersion heater heats up to 70 degrees instead of 60 too. I only use it when it’s going to be cold though and not all year.

What I love most about window cleaners is when we talk about earning x per hour, day, weeks etc and then penny pinch on things that would help us to make money. 🤣🤣🤣

I dont think a hot water system helps make money though, if having a hot water system set up guaranteed say a minute saved on an average clean then its a no brainier and you would be daft not to have it, my run is all monthly cleans with no big 6 monthly jobs etc, on monthly maintenance cleans its no quicker than cold.

We find it’s a huge time saver on costal salty work especially baked on seagulls poo in the summer I have hot systems in 3 vans and would not have gone to that expense if it wasn’t cost effective , it’s not cheap to buy or run but fir us it’s definitely a good investment.

I can see why its needed in circumstances like that, the vast majority of people wont have that to deal with though and will just be run of the mill cleans.

We definitely clean a bit faster. It might result in one extra house per day of which the cost is counteracted by the cost of diesel and repairs to the system. IMHO the benefit is in 2 things. First the quality of the job, you're less likely to leave marks from bird strikes, it removes stubborn stains like fly poo without the need for chemicals. Second is in staff happiness. Working with cold water when it's cold is grim. I think if I were a staff member working for someone in the freezing cold with cold water I would spend my lunch break on Indeed.

When it's cold I just turn the immersion heater on through the night though and my tank has hot water all day, it also doesn't involve any costs for repairs and the initial outlay is around 160 times more of a cost.

Anyone cleaning windows for someone will probably be looking on Indeed regardless of what heat there water is. The jobs terrible using both.

I forgot the earlier part of this conversation before replying. I thought you were just poo pooing working with hot water making any difference at all. You’re right, I keep my hot water set low and I imagine the immersion heater is somewhere near similar heat. I’ve several vans sat in a yard a few miles from my house. The immersion heater set up wouldn’t work for me. If that went wrong and caught fire or something… and that’s just for starters. As I said in an earlier post the deals for low costs overnight are great but you need to sort your life around that. We’re on a shared commercial tariff so I couldn’t even begin to think about something like that.
