Is it pointless canvassing at this time of year?

I would never discourage anyone from canvassing I just don't advocate xmas canvassing unless you are desperate? I have had these quote books printed after I got mugged for £30, on the sheet you will see a Line where the customer signs to say they have accepted the quote just in case I have to go and see Judge Rinder?View attachment 8508

I really like that. Its like a contract but won't come across as threatening.

I need to get some 'Your windows were cleaned' cards made up to save me writing out little invoices as over the course of the day the time ads up. I don't want to print them out myself but was looking to get a small book made up.

You guys are lucky you CAN canvass . Over here in Denmark its illegal to visit private homeowners an Sell stuff without appointment .

I got 2 quote books and 1 invoice book in triplicate including design and print for 30 quid from a very good local printer called print people in Birmingham they said they can do me double sided business cards for the price Vista charge for one sided, if you look closely on the quote sheet it states there is a £15 charge if I turn up for a job and I am turned away all of course signed for.:thumbsup:

Eh, I just contacted the print people Birmingham... £25 plus vat for 100 double sided colour business cards. Don't know about delivery.

Vista print £15 for the same thing including vat. Not sure about that Poles!

That's odd it's 8 quid just to get them delivered from Vista!

If you're in this for the long term, don't bother buying 100 business cards. Bite the bullet and buy 5000 or so (around £55 from my supplier). You will get through them soon enough. Never just give out 1, always give at least 2 so they can tell a mate. Pin them on invoices, post them through doors, put piles where you are allowed to. Litter the whole place with them and they soon go. Its equivilent to about 2 first cleans, yet it will bring in loads loads more in new business.

Like this? £87 including design for 2000, there is a space to insert date the work was done but I don't fill that in unless requested as I get the tickets handed back so should last a couple of years at least?View attachment 5906

Hey sloppy this is my first winter and like u worried about picking up customers,went canvassing yesterday for the first time in a while and picked up 9 regulars in 3 hours,best days canvassing yet,shows the works there whatever the weather

Just stick to the price you think is right and don't undercut well under the odds otherwise you working for peanuts and running around like a mad man,if the customer doesn't like what you quote then just move onto the next one

Yes green ! But personale contact at the door is illegal . Its is legal to call Them though on the Phone ,As for today i was out with my flyers , sometimes ill just put on a quote on it and post it .

It acctually works great . Then when they contact me i save the trouble of Wasting time on a quote i dont get ,cause they already know my price .

But i also often just leaflet too.

Now and then i bring the wifey , she hands out flyers while i clean in a certain area . Works great !:thumbsup:

As said in the post above, when canvassing we work between 10 & 4 in the winter.
In the summer you can fit in from 10-8 six plus days a week and if you can manage six to eight weeks of that in the summer you will have one monster round!

Surely if you're canvassing 10-4 u only do it on Saturdays? (No one is in during week!)

There is never a good time to canvass, I don't answer my door at night, nothing wrong with daytimes plenty of people still in, doesn't effect me as I only leaflet and advertise.

watch out at this time of the year. people will take the pish saying they want windows cleaned regularly then dump you next time you go to clean. they only want them done for xmas. ive had phone calls & voice mails of chancers i cleaned this time last year asking me when can i come & do the windows . wont be happening. if they had said at the time they only wanted them done the once for xmas i would just give them a silly price take it or leave deal.
